PINCH GESTURE TO SWAP WINDOWS
The disclosed method and device are directed to a communication device that receives, by a gesture capture region and/or a touch sensitive display, a gesture while a first touch sensitive display is displaying a first displayed image and a second touch sensitive display is displaying a second displayed image and, in response, ceasing to display the first displayed image on the first touch sensitive display and commencing to display the first displayed image on the second touch sensitive display and ceasing to display a second displayed image on the second touch sensitive display and commencing to display the second displayed image on the first touch sensitive display.
1 . A method, comprising:
receiving, by at least one of a gesture capture region and a touch sensitive display, a gesture while a first touch sensitive display of a communication device is displaying a first displayed image and a second touch sensitive display of the communication device is displaying a second displayed image; and
in response, ceasing, by a microprocessor, to display the first displayed image on the first touch sensitive display and commencing to display the first displayed image on the second touch sensitive display and ceasing to display a second displayed image on the second touch sensitive display and commencing to display the second displayed image on the first touch sensitive display, wherein the first displayed image is at least one of a desktop and window of an application.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the gesture is a pinch gesture and wherein the first touch sensitive display ceases to display the first displayed image at substantially the same time as the second touch display ceases to display the second displayed image.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first displayed image is a window, wherein the gesture is received by the gesture capture region, and wherein the gesture capture region is unable to display any displayed image.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first touch sensitive display starts to display the second displayed image at substantially the same time as the first touch display starts to display the second displayed image.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second touch sensitive displays has a respective stack of displayed images, with the first and second displayed images being in active display positions and wherein, with the exception of the first and second displayed images, the respective stacks of displayed images of the first and second touch sensitive displays remain unchanged.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first and second displayed images are first and second windows, respectively, and wherein the first window is controlled by a first single-screen application and the second window is controlled by a second single-screen application.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first and second displayed images are first and second windows, respectively, and wherein the first and second windows are controlled by a common multi-screen application.
8 . A non-transient computer readable medium comprising processor executable instructions operable to perform the steps of claim 1 .
9 . A method, comprising:
displaying, by a first touch sensitive display, a window and, by a second touch sensitive display, a second desktop;
receiving, by at least one of a gesture capture region and a touch sensitive display, a gesture; and
in response, moving, by a microprocessor, the window from the first touch sensitive display to a second touch sensitive display, whereby the first touch sensitive display displays a first desktop and the second touch sensitive display displays the window.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the window is controlled by a single-screen application and wherein the gesture is a pinch gesture.
11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein each of the first and second touch sensitive displays has a respective stack of images, with the window is in an active display position, and wherein, with the exception of the window, the respective stacks of images of the first and second touch sensitive displays remain unchanged.
12 . A non-transient computer readable medium comprising processor executable instructions operable to perform the steps of claim 9 .
13 . A dual display communication device operable to perform the steps of claim 9 .
14 . A dual display communication device, comprising:
a gesture capture region to receive a gesture;
a first touch sensitive display to receive a gesture and display displayed images, wherein the displayed images are at least one of a desktop and window of an application;
a second touch sensitive display to receive a gesture and display displayed images; and
middleware operable to perform at least one of the following operations:
receiving, by at least one of a gesture capture region and a touch sensitive display, a gesture while a first touch sensitive display of a communication device is displaying a first displayed image and a second touch sensitive display of the communication device is displaying a second displayed image; and
in response, ceasing to display the first displayed image on the first touch sensitive display and commencing to display the first displayed image on the second touch sensitive display and ceasing to display a second displayed image on the second touch sensitive display and commencing to display the second displayed image on the first touch sensitive display, wherein the first displayed image is at least one of a desktop and window of an application.
15 . The device of claim 14 , wherein the gesture is a pinch gesture and wherein the first touch sensitive display ceases to display the first displayed image at substantially the same time as the second touch display ceases to display the second displayed image.
16 . The device of claim 14 , wherein the first displayed image is a window, wherein the gesture is received by the gesture capture region, and wherein the gesture capture region is unable to display any displayed image.
17 . The device of claim 14 , wherein the first touch sensitive display starts to display the second displayed image at substantially the same time as the first touch display starts to display the second displayed image.
18 . The device of claim 14 , wherein each of the first and second touch sensitive displays has a respective stack of displayed images, with the first and second displayed images being in active display positions and wherein, with the exception of the first and second displayed images, the respective stacks of displayed images of the first and second touch sensitive displays remain unchanged.
19 . The device of claim 14 , wherein the first and second displayed images are first and second windows, respectively, and wherein the first window is controlled by a first single-screen application and the second window is controlled by a second single-screen application.
20 . The device of claim 14 , wherein the first and second displayed images are first and second windows, respectively, and wherein the first and second windows are controlled by a common multi-screen application.
