Abstract

An embodiment of the present application discloses a light-emitting structure, comprising a substrate, a first unit and a second unit separately form on the substrate; a trench formed between the first unit and the second unit, and having a bottom portion exposing the substrate, a less steep sidewall and a steeper sidewall steeper than the less steep sidewall; and an electrical connection connecting the first unit and the second unit and covering the first unit, the second unit and the less steep sidewall; wherein the sidewalls directly connect to the bottom portion, and the steeper sidewall is devoid of the electrical connection covering.

Claims (25)

1. A light-emitting structure, comprising:

a substrate;

a first unit and a second unit, separately formed on the substrate;

a trench, between the first unit and the second unit, having a bottom portion exposing the substrate, a first sidewall and a second sidewall steeper than the first sidewall; and

an electrical connection, electrically connecting the first unit and the second unit and covering the first unit, the second unit, and the first sidewall,

wherein the first sidewall and the second sidewall directly connect to the bottom portion, and

wherein the second sidewall is devoid of the electrical connection covering.

2. The light-emitting structure of claim 1 , further comprising a current network connected to the electrical connection.

3. The light-emitting structure of claim 1 , further comprising a third unit and a fourth unit separated from the third unit by the trench.

4. The light-emitting structure of claim 1 , further comprising a third unit on which the second sidewall is arranged.

5. The light-emitting structure of claim 1 , wherein the first unit and the second unit are electrically coupled in series or in parallel.

6. The light-emitting structure of claim 1 , wherein the trench has a reversed-trapezoid or quasi-reversed-trapezoid cross-sectional profile.

7. The light-emitting structure of claim 1 , wherein the first sidewall is arranged in a full length of the trench or a partial length of the trench.

8. The light-emitting structure of claim 1 , wherein the electrical connection is arranged on the trench and electrically connects the first unit with the second unit.

9. The light-emitting structure of claim 1 , further comprising:

an isolation arranged on the trench;

wherein the first unit comprises a first upper layer, and a first lower layer having a first top surface and a first-lower sidewall, the second unit comprises a second upper layer having a second top surface, and a second lower layer having a second-lower sidewall;

wherein the isolation contiguously covers the second top surface, the second-lower sidewall and the bottom portion and is configured to expose a portion of the first-lower sidewall, and the electrical connection contacts the exposed portion of the first-lower sidewall and the second top surface.

10. The light-emitting structure of claim 9 , wherein the isolation layer exposes the first top surface, the electrical connection contacts the first top surface.

11. The light-emitting structure of claim 9 , wherein the electrical connection has a greater contact area with the first unit than the second unit.

12. The light-emitting structure of claim 1 , wherein the electrical connection comprises a joining portion and a bridging portion which is wider than the joining portion.

13. The light-emitting structure of claim 12 , wherein the joining portion has a cross section area equal to or close to that of the bridging portion.

14. The light-emitting structure of claim 12 , wherein the joining portion and the bridging portion have similar thicknesses.

15. The light-emitting structure of claim 12 , wherein the joining portion is electrically connected to an anode or a cathode.

16. The light-emitting structure of claim 12 , wherein the bridging portion is thinner than the joining portion.
