Abstract

A system is provided that allows a photographer to take images for a customer and provide those images to order servicing equipment with which the images are placed on-line for the customer to view. The customer may place orders for the images and products and services related to the images. The order servicing equipment may credit the photographer when the customer orders images, products, or services. Images may be manipulated before images, products, or services are ordered. Images may be taken using film-based cameras or digital image acquisition equipment. Image presentation options may be selected. Content may be appended to the images. Web sites and digital albums may be created using the images. The photographer may check the status of assignments that have been submitted to the order servicing equipment and may check on account status.

Claims (14)

1. A computing device, comprising:

a screen;

a memory storing a table, wherein the table allows a user to establish different rights levels for different parties other than the user according to a type of usage scenario, further rows in the table correspond to different parties while columns in the same table correspond to different usage arrangements; and

a processor configured to:

receive a notification message from a first external computing device over a communication network, the notification message containing location information and a security password for availability of access to an image to be uploaded on the screen, the location information indicating an internet-address of the image and the security password being generated by the first external computing device,

access the image by using the location information and the security password,

display the image on the screen,

provide the user with an image editing browser on the screen to edit the displayed image and establish different rights levels for the different parties other than the user, wherein the image editing browser generates a selection function based on accessing rights levels stored in the table to determine which portions of the image are to be provided to a second external computing device,

establish different rights levels for the different parties other than the user using the image editing browser and storing the established different rights for the different parties other than the user in the table stored in the memory, and

transmit both of the edited image and the established different rights for the different parties other than the user to the second external computing device over a communication network based on accessing the established different rights in the table.

2. The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the computing device is communicated with the first external computing device and the second external computing device over a same communication network.

3. The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the screen is configured as an interactive screen to collect customer information and control the acquisition of the displayed image.

4. The computing device of claim 3 , wherein the interactive screen is a web browser.

5. The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the image editing browser further includes another selection function to select image presentation options indicating a type of compression scheme for displaying the image.
