Abstract

An airbag arrangement includes an airbag with at least one inflatable chamber and a first opening; and a cover that at least partially covers the first opening of the airbag and that comprises a second opening. The first and second openings are designed such that the chamber of the airbag is accessible through the first and second openings. The first opening is designed in a first layer of an airbag material and the second opening is designed in a second layer of an airbag material. At least one part projects into the airbag through the first and the second opening, whereby the first and the second layer are restrained by the part projecting into the airbag in the area of the openings such that a section of the rim of the first and a section of the rim of the second opening rest closely against the part.

Claims (23)

1. An airbag arrangement comprising:

an airbag comprising at least one inflatable chamber and at least one opening, and

a cover that at least partially covers the at least one opening of the airbag,

wherein the chamber of the airbag is accessible through a part of the opening which is not covered by the cover,

wherein the at least one opening is designed as a slit and extends with an end beyond the cover,

wherein the end of the at least one opening forms a pass through opening extending between a circumferential seam of the airbag and a rim of the cover.

2. The airbag arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the opening is divided by the circumferential seam, the circumferential seam connecting airbag layers, which form the chamber of the airbag, to one another.

3. The airbag arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the pass through opening is limited by the circumferential seam of the airbag and the rim of the cover.

4. An airbag arrangement comprising:

an airbag comprising at least one inflatable chamber and at least one opening;

a cover that at least partially covers the at least one opening of the airbag, wherein the chamber of the airbag is accessible through a part of the opening which is not covered by the cover, wherein the at least one opening is designed as a slit and extends with an end beyond the cover, wherein the end of the at least one opening extending beyond the cover forms a pass through opening; and

a gas generator, wherein, in an assembled state of the airbag arrangement, an ignition cable of the gas generator is guided through the pass through opening.

5. An airbag arrangement comprising:

an airbag comprising at least one inflatable chamber and at least one opening;

a cover that at least partially covers the at least one opening of the airbag,

wherein the chamber of the airbag is accessible through a part of the opening which is not covered by the cover,

wherein the at least one opening is designed as a slit and extends with an end beyond the cover,

wherein the cover has a flap in an area of the at least one opening which is guided through the opening.

6. The airbag arrangement according to claim 5 , further comprising a gas generator, wherein the flap is bent into a direction of the gas generator.

7. The airbag arrangement according to claim 6 , wherein the flap is fixed to the gas generator.

8. The airbag arrangement according to claim 6 , wherein a fixing structure is provided on the flap via which the flap is fixed to the gas generator.

9. The airbag arrangement according to claim 8 , wherein the fixing structure is another opening via which the flap is arranged on a bolt of the gas generator.

10. The airbag arrangement according to claim 6 , wherein the flap with one end is guided through the opening to the outside, the one end of the flap being placed over an ignition cable of the gas generator.
