Abstract

The present invention provides optical systems, devices and methods which utilize one or more electroactive polymer actuators to adjust an optical parameter of the optical device or system.

Claims (5)

1 . A wafer lens system comprising:

an image sensor fabricated on a first wafer;

a lens unit comprising at least one lens positioned along a focal axis and coupled to the first wafer; and

at least one electroactive polymer film coupled to the lens unit such that activation of the electroactive polymer translates the lens unit relative to the focal axis.

2 . The wafer lens system of claim 1 , further comprising a lever member coupled between the lens unit and the electroactive polymer film, such that activation of the electroactive polymer film actuates the lever member to translate the lens unit.
