Abstract

A wireless power service panel source includes power and control circuitry that receives power from a wired power connection at a position in a service panel, and generates an electronic drive signal at a frequency, f, and a source magnetic resonator configured to generate an oscillating magnetic field in response to the electronic drive signal, wherein the source magnetic resonator is configured to wirelessly transmit power to sensors in other positions within the service panel.

Claims (25)

1 . A wireless power service panel source, comprising:

power and control circuitry that receives power from a wired power connection at a position in a service panel, and generates an electronic drive signal at a frequency, f; and

a source magnetic resonator configured to generate an oscillating magnetic field in response to the electronic drive signal,

wherein the source magnetic resonator is configured to wirelessly transmit power to sensors in other positions within the service panel.

2 . The source of claim 1 , wherein the frequency is 13.56 MHz.

3 . The source of claim 1 , wherein the frequency is 6.78 MHz.

4 . The source of claim 1 , wherein power is transmitted to sensors on either side of the source.

5 . The source of claim 1 , wherein power is simultaneously transmitted to sensors on either side of the source.

6 . A wireless power circuit breaker, comprising:

a sensor; and

a device magnetic resonator configured to capture power from an oscillating magnetic field and provide power to circuits and switches within a circuit breaker.

7 . The circuit breaker of claim 6 , wherein the sensor is a residual current sensor.

8 . The circuit breaker of claim 6 , wherein the sensor is an over-current sensor.

9 . The circuit breaker of claim 6 , wherein the circuit breaker is a ground fault interrupter.

10 . A wireless power system for electrical panels, comprising:

a source magnetic resonator located at a position within an electrical panel suitable for receiving power from a wired source; and

at least one device magnetic resonator configured to supply power to at least one electrical panel device, and located at a different position than the source magnetic resonator,

wherein the source magnetic resonator is configured to wirelessly transmit power to the at least one device magnetic resonator.

11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the electrical panel comprises circuit breakers.

12 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the electrical panel comprises transformers.

13 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the electrical panel comprises batteries.

14 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the electrical panel is part of an electrical distribution system.

15 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the electrical panel is part of a control system.

16 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the electrical panel is part of an alarm system.

17 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the source magnetic resonator is located in one electrical panel and the device magnetic resonator is located in another electrical panel.
