Physical Site-Contextualized Recommender
A site-contextualized method, system, and device generates recommendations based on usage behaviors and a physical site layout. The recommendations may comprise one or more products, and a recommendation may be accompanied with an associated price. The recommendations may be based on an inference of a preference and/or in accordance with a physical object. Information as to why the recommendation was delivered to a recommendation recipient may be provided to the recommendation recipient.
1 . A method, comprising:
providing a physical site layout through use of a mobile processor-based device; and
receiving a recommendation on a processor-based device, wherein the recommendation is generated in accordance with a plurality of usage behaviors and the site layout.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
providing the site layout through use of the mobile processor-based device, wherein the device is location-aware.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving the recommendation, wherein the recommendation is a product.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving the recommendation, wherein the recommendation is a bundle comprising a plurality of products.
5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising:
receiving a price corresponding to the bundle.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving the recommendation, wherein the recommendation is generated in accordance with the location of at least one physical object.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving the recommendation, wherein the recommendation is based on an inference of a preference.
8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving the recommendation in response to a search request.
9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving information as to why the recommendation was delivered to the recommendation recipient.
10 . A computer-implemented system, comprising:
a customer context function that accesses physical site layout information that is provided by a processor-based device; and
a recommendation function executed on a processor-based device that generates a recommendation for delivery to a user in accordance with a plurality of usage behaviors and the site layout information.
11 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
a location-aware function that determines location information associated with the site.
12 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
an inference function that infers a preference based on the plurality of usage behaviors.
13 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
a product bundle recommendation function that recommends a bundle comprising a plurality of products.
14 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
a pricing function that delivers a price to the user for one or more recommended products.
15 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
the recommendation function, wherein the recommendation function generates the recommendation in accordance with the location of at least one physical object.
16 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
the recommendation function, wherein the recommendation function generates the recommendation in response to a search request.
17 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
the recommendation function, wherein the recommendation function generates the recommendation in response to the user's gesture.
18 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
an explanatory function that delivers information as to why the recommendation was delivered to the user.
19 . A portable processor-based device, comprising:
a global positioning system receiver;
means to capture a plurality of usage behaviors associated with use of the device;
means for storing customer contextualization information, wherein the customer contextualization information includes a physical site layout; and
means to deliver a recommendation to a user of the device, wherein the recommendation is in accordance with the plurality of usage behaviors and the site layout.
20 . The device of claim 19 , further comprising
means to deliver the recommendation in accordance with a proximity to a physical object.
