Abstract

A physiological-responsive computer-implemented system and device generates recommendations based on usage behaviors, including physiological responses such as body movements and gestures. The recommendations may be based on an inference of a preference and/or in accordance with the location or proximity of a physical object, and may be delivered in the context of the recommendation recipient interacting with a computer-implemented game. Information as to why the recommendation was delivered to a recommendation recipient may be provided to the recommendation recipient.

Claims (44)

1 . A method, comprising:

exhibiting a physiological response through use of a mobile processor-based device; and

receiving a recommendation delivered on a processor-based device, wherein the recommendation is generated based, at least in part, on a plurality of usage behaviors, wherein one of the plurality of behaviors is the physiological response.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

exhibiting the physiological response, wherein the physiological response is a body movement.

3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

exhibiting the body movement, wherein the body movement is a gesture.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

exhibiting the physiological response through use of the mobile processor-based device, wherein the device is location-aware.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving the recommendation, wherein the recommendation is generated in accordance with an inference of a preference.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving the recommendation, wherein the recommendation is generated in accordance with the location of at least one physical object.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving the recommendation while playing a game using the processor-based device.

8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving information from an explanatory function as to why the recommendation was delivered to the recommendation recipient.

9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

interacting with the explanatory function to receive additional information as to why the recommendation was delivered to the recommendation recipient.

10 . A computer-implemented system, comprising:

a usage function that stores a physiological response associated with use of a processor-based device; and

a recommendation function executed on a processor-based device that generates a recommendation for delivery to a user based, at least in part, on a plurality of usage behaviors, wherein one of the behaviors is the physiological response.

11 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:

a computer-implemented function that monitors body movements.

12 . The system of claim 11 , further comprising:

a computer-implemented function that monitors gestures.

13 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:

a location-aware function.

14 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:

a computer-implemented inference function that infers a preference based on the plurality of behaviors.

15 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:

a recommendation function that generates the recommendation in accordance with the location of at least one physical object.

16 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:

an interactive game function that enables the user to interact with a computer-implemented game.

17 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:

an explanatory function that delivers information as to why the recommendation was delivered to the user.

18 . The system of claim 17 , further comprising:

an interactive explanatory function that delivers additional information as to why the recommendation was delivered to the user upon request by the user.

19 . A portable processor-based device, comprising:

a global positioning system receiver;

means to capture a plurality of usage behaviors associated with use of the device, wherein one of the usage behaviors is a physiological response; and

means to deliver a recommendation to a user of the device, wherein the recommendation is based, at least in part, on the plurality of usage behaviors, wherein one of the plurality of behaviors is the physiological response.

20 . The device of claim 19 , further comprising

means to deliver the recommendation in accordance with a proximity to a physical object.
