Abstract

A heterocyclic compound represented by Formula 1 below and an organic light-emitting device including the same: wherein Formula 1 is defined as in the detailed description.

Claims (21)

1. A heterocyclic compound represented by Formula 2 below:

R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 5 , R 6 , R 7 , R 8 , R 9 and R 11 each being independently a hydrogen atom or a deuterium atom, and R 4 and R 10 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a deuterium atom, a halogen atom, a cyano group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 20 alkyl group, or groups represented by Formulae 2a to 2g below:

Q 1 is a linking group selected from among —C(R 19 )(R 20 )—, —N(R 21 )—, —S— and —O—; Y 1 , Y 2 and Y 3 are each independently a linking group selected from among —N═ and —C(R 22 )═; Z 1 , Z 2 , Ar 12 , Ar 13 , R 19 , R 20 , R 21 and R 22 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a deuterium atom, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 20 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 5 -C 20 aryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 3 -C 20 heteroaryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 6 -C 20 fused polycyclic group, a halogen atom, a cyano group, a nitro group, a hydroxyl group, or a carboxyl group; Ar 11 is a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 20 alkylene group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 5 -C 20 arylene group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C 3 -C 20 heteroarylene group; R 1 to R 11 are not all hydrogen atoms; p is an integer from 1 to 7; r is an integer from 0 to 5; and * indicates a binding site.

The heterocyclic compound of claim 1 , R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 5 , R 6 , R 7 , R 8 , R 9 and R 11 are each independently a hydrogen atom and a deuterium atom, and R 4 and R 10 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a deuterium atom, a halogen atom, a cyano group, a methyl group, an ethyl group, a propyl group, a butyl group, a pentyl group, or groups represented by Formulae 3a to 3c below:

Z 1 , R 23 and R 24 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a deuterium atom, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 20 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 5 -C 20 aryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 3 -C 20 heteroaryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 6 -C 20 fused polycyclic group, a halogen atom, a cyano group, a nitro group, a hydroxyl group, or a carboxyl group; R 1 to R 11 are not all hydrogen atoms; p is an integer from 1 to 7; and * indicates a binding site.

3. The heterocyclic compound of claim 1 , the heterocyclic compound being any one of compounds below:

4. An organic light-emitting device comprising:

a first electrode;

a second electrode; and

an organic layer interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode,

the organic layer comprising a first layer comprised of the heterocyclic compound of claim 1 .

The organic light-emitting device of claim 4 , wherein the first layer comprises: a hole injection layer (HIL), a hole transport layer (HTL), a layer having both a hole injection function and a hole transport function, an electron injection layer (EIL), an electron transport layer (ETL) or a layer having both an electron injection function and an electron transport function.

The organic light-emitting device of claim 4 , the first layer comprising a hole injection layer (HIL), a hole transport layer (HTL), a layer having both a hole injection function and a hole transport function, an emission layer (EML), an electron injection layer (EIL), an electron transport layer (ETL), or a layer having both an electron injection function and an electron transport function, the first layer further comprising a charge-generating material.

7. The organic light-emitting device of claim 4 , wherein the first layer is an emission layer (EML), and the heterocyclic compound is used as a host or a dopant.

8. The organic light-emitting device of claim 4 , wherein the first layer is an emission layer (EML), and the emission layer further comprises an anthracene compound, an arylamine compound or a styryl compound.

9. The organic light-emitting device of claim 4 , wherein the first layer is an emission layer (EML) comprising at least one layer of a red layer, a green layer, a blue layer, and a white layer, and at least one of said at least one layer comprises a phosphorescence compound.

10. The organic light-emitting device of claim 4 , wherein the first layer is a blue emission layer.

11. The organic light-emitting device of claim 4 , wherein the first layer is a blue emission layer, and the heterocyclic compound is used as a blue dopant.

The organic light-emitting device of claim 4 , wherein the organic layer further comprises a hole injection layer (HIL), a hole transport layer (HTL), a layer having both a hole injection function and a hole transport function, an emission layer (EML), a hole block layer (HBL), an electron transport layer (ETL), an electron injection layer (EIL), or a combination of at least two thereof.

13. The organic light-emitting device of claim 4 , the first layer being formed by using a wet method using the heterocyclic compound of claim 1 .

14. A flat panel display device comprising the organic light-emitting device of claim 4 , wherein the first electrode of the organic light-emitting device is electrically connected to a source electrode or a drain electrode of a thin film transistor.
