Context-Conditional Recommendation Delivery System
A computer-implemented context-conditional recommendation delivery method, system, and device conditionally enable delivery of recommendations that are based on inferred preferences, given a sufficient contextual basis. The contextual basis may include factors such as location, customer contextual information and/or supplier contextual information. The recommendations may be delivered to another processor-based device, and may comprise one or more products and a corresponding price. Information as to why the recommendation was delivered to a recommendation recipient may be provided to the recommendation recipient.
1 . A method, comprising:
determining if there exists a sufficient contextual basis for delivering a recommendation to a portable processor-based device; and
delivering the recommendation to the portable processor-based device conditional on the existence of a sufficient contextual basis, wherein the recommendation is generated based, at least in part, on an inference of a preference from a plurality of usage behaviors.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining if there exists a sufficient contextual basis for delivering a recommendation to the portable processor-based device, wherein the portable processor-device comprises a function that enables receipt of the recommendation conditional on a sufficient contextual basis.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining if there exists a sufficient contextual basis, wherein the contextual basis comprises an automatically determined location.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining if there exists a sufficient contextual basis, wherein the contextual basis comprises customer context information.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining if there exists a sufficient contextual basis, wherein the contextual basis comprises supplier context information.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining if there exists a sufficient contextual basis, wherein the contextual basis comprises an inference of a preference.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
delivering the recommendation, wherein the recommendation is generated based, at least in part, on the inference from the plurality of usage behaviors, wherein one of the plurality of usage behaviors is a physiological response.
8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
delivering the recommendation, wherein the recommendation comprises a product bundle, wherein the product bundle comprises a plurality of products.
9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
delivering information to the portable processor-based device comprising a reason as to why the recommendation was delivered.
10 . A computer-implemented system, comprising:
a contextual basis-determining function executed on a processor-based device that enables delivery of a recommendation to a recommendation recipient conditional on determining a sufficient contextual basis; and
a computer-implemented recommendation delivery function that generates the recommendation, wherein the recommendation is generated based, at least in part, on an inference of a preference from a plurality of usage behaviors.
11 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
the contextual basis-determining function that enables delivery of a recommendation to the recommendation recipient, wherein the recommendation recipient receives the recommendation on a device that comprises a computer-implemented function that enables receipt of the recommendation conditional on a sufficient contextual basis.
12 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
the contextual basis-determining function executed on a processor-based device that enables delivery of a recommendation to a recommendation recipient conditional on determining a sufficient contextual basis, wherein the contextual basis comprises an automatically determined location.
13 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
the contextual basis-determining function executed on a processor-based device that enables delivery of a recommendation to a recommendation recipient conditional on determining a sufficient contextual basis, wherein the contextual basis comprises customer context information.
14 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
the contextual basis-determining function executed on a processor-based device that enables delivery of a recommendation to a recommendation recipient conditional on determining a sufficient contextual basis, wherein the contextual basis comprises supplier context information.
15 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
the contextual basis-determining function executed on a processor-based device that enables delivery of a recommendation to a recommendation recipient conditional on determining a sufficient contextual basis, wherein the contextual basis comprises an inference of a preference.
16 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
the recommendation delivery function that generates the recommendation, wherein the recommendation is generated based, at least in part, on an inference from a plurality of usage behaviors, wherein at least one of the plurality of behaviors is a physiological response.
17 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
the recommendation delivery function that generates the recommendation, wherein the recommendation comprises at least one product and a corresponding price.
18 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
an explanation delivery function that delivers information comprising a reason as to why the recommendation was delivered to the recommendation recipient.
19 . A processor-based device, comprising:
a global positioning system receiver;
a plurality of stored usage behaviors;
means to determine a location-based contextual basis for delivering a recommendation to a second processor-based device; and
means to deliver the recommendation, wherein the recommendation is generated based, at least in part, on an inference of a preference from the plurality of usage behaviors.
20 . The device of claim 19 , further comprising
the plurality of stored usage behaviors, wherein at least one of the plurality of usage behaviors is a physiological response.
