Automated heat exchanger tube cleaning assembly and system
View Patent ↗An automated heat exchanger tube cleaning assembly and system are provided. The present system can automatically (without ongoing human intervention) survey the tube sheet of a heat exchanger in three-dimensions, convert and record the survey results as a digital file in three-dimensions, and then, according to sequential parameters input via custom software, automatically coordinate via computer one or more cleaning devices to effect the cleaning of each desired tube of the heat exchanger.
1. An apparatus for cleaning the insides of a plurality of tubes on the tube sheet of a heat exchanger, the apparatus comprising: a plurality of tube cleaning lances at least partially disposed within the insides of the respective tubes of the heat exchanger; and a tube cleaning lance rotating device comprising a plurality of pulleys driven by a single belt, the single belt and plurality of pulleys both being disposed within a housing, wherein the pulleys manipulate the rotational motion of the tube cleaning lances.
2. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a control console for providing instructions to the tube cleaning lance rotating device.
3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of tube cleaning lances comprises five or more tube cleaning lances.
4. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a nozzle disposed on each of the respective tube cleaning lances, whereby the nozzle does not rotate independently of the tube cleaning lance.
5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the housing is a gearbox.
6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the lances are aligned on equal centers from lance to lance within the housing.
7. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the lances are aligned in a staggered pattern within the housing.
8. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the lances are aligned in a parallel pattern within the housing.
9. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the single belt engages each of the pulleys and passes between the pulleys in a serpentine manner.
10. An apparatus for cleaning the insides of a plurality tubes on the tube sheet of a heat exchanger, the apparatus comprising: a plurality of tube cleaning lances at least partially disposed within the insides of the respective tubes of the heat exchanger; and a tube cleaning lance rotating device comprising a first series of pulleys driven by a first belt and a second series of pulleys driven by a second belt, the belts and pulleys being disposed within a housing, wherein the pulleys manipulate the rotational motion of the tube cleaning lances.
11. The apparatus of claim 10 , further comprising a control console for providing instructions to the tube cleaning lance rotating device.
12. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of tube cleaning lances comprises five or more tube cleaning lances.
13. The apparatus of claim 10 , further comprising a nozzle disposed on each of the respective tube cleaning lances, whereby the nozzle does not rotate independently of the tube cleaning lance.
14. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the housing is a gearbox.
15. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the lances are aligned on equal centers from lance to lance within the housing.
16. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the lances are aligned in a staggered pattern within the housing.
17. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the lances are aligned in a parallel pattern within the housing.
18. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the first belt engages each pulley of the first series of pulleys and passes between the pulleys of the first series of pulleys in a serpentine manner.
19. The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the second belt engages each pulley of the second series of pulleys and passes between the pulleys of the first series of pulleys in a serpentine manner.
