Anti-influenza M2e antibody
View Patent ↗Humanized recombinant and monoclonal antibodies specific for the ectodomain of the influenza virus M2 ion channel protein are disclosed. The antibodies of the invention have anti-viral activity and may be useful as anti-viral therapeutics and/or prophylactic/vaccine agents for inhibiting influenza virus replication and for treating individuals infected with influenza.
1. An isolated polynucleotide encoding an anti-M2e monoclonal antibody, or antigen-binding fragment thereof, wherein the antibody or the antigen-binding fragment thereof specifically binds influenza M2e polypeptide, and wherein the polynucleotide encodes a light chain variable region of SEQ ID NO: 1 and a heavy chain variable region of SEQ ID NO: 2 of the antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof.
2. The isolated polynucleotide of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is a scFv.
3. The isolated polynucleotide of claim 1 , wherein the antigen-binding fragment is selected from the group consisting of Fab and Fab′.
4. The isolated polynucleotide of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is a minibody.
5. The isolated polynucleotide of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is an immunoglobulin selected from the group consisting of IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG and IgM.
6. The isolated polynucleotide of claim 1 , comprising SEQ ID NO: 3 and SEQ ID NO: 4.
7. A vector comprising the polynucleotide of claim 1 .
8. The vector of claim 7 , wherein the vector is a plasmid vector.
9. The vector of claim 7 , wherein the vector is a phage vector.
10. An isolated host cell comprising the vector of claim 7 .
