Abstract

A reactor is designed as a disposable element, a container receives the reactor, and a device comprises a reactor. A drive unit of the device generates a rotating-oscillating motion of the reactor, and the device is utilized for cultivating cells and/or microorganisms.

Claims (28)

1 . A reactor comprising walls, enclosing an interior space, and passages and/or connections in the walls, permitting connection of the interior space to the external surroundings, wherein the reactor, when filled with liquid, has an angular cross section parallel to the surface of the liquid and a floor which is curved or curvable into the interior space.

2 . The reactor according to claim 1 , wherein the floor, curved or curvable inward, has edges projecting into the interior space of the reactor.

3 . The reactor according to claim 1 , wherein the floor, which is curved or curvable inward, is of polyhedral design.

4 . The reactor according to claim 1 , wherein a height h of a curvature of the floor in a ratio to a circle-equivalent diameter d of the floor is within a range of 3% to 100%.

5 . The reactor according to claim 1 , wherein the passages and/or connections are provided in a side region of the reactor located adjacent to an edge of the floor.

6 . The reactor according to claim 1 , wherein the walls are flexible and therefore the reactor is adapted to be deformable.

7 . A container for accommodating the reactor according to claim 1 , the container at least comprising

an interior space for accommodating the reactor,

an opening for frontal introduction of the reactor into the container, wherein the opening is closable and is adapted to be liquid-tight in a closed state,

a floor which is curved inward into the interior space of the container, and

a side channel, via which hoses and channels can be led up to the reactor.

8 . The container according to claim 7 , wherein the inwardly curved floor is of polyhedral design.

9 . The container according to claim 7 , wherein the side channel runs between two spaced-apart walls, the walls reaching into a floor region of the reactor, and the walls being removable for the frontal introduction of the reactor into the container.

10 . The container according to claim 7 , further comprising a connecting plate, arranged laterally in a region of the curved floor, for the fixing and/or guiding of couplings and/or hoses which are connectable to the reactor.

11 . The container according to claim 10 , wherein the connecting plate is open laterally and, in order to fix the reactor in the container, is pushable laterally over the connections of the reactor.

12 . The container according to claim 7 , further comprising heating and/or cooling elements mounted in and/or on walls of the container.

13 . A device at least comprising the reactor according to claim 1 , a drive unit for generating a rotating-oscillating motion of the reactor, and, if the reactor is adapted to be deformable, optionally a container at least comprising

an interior space for accommodating the reactor,

an opening for frontal introduction of the reactor into the container, wherein the opening is closable and is adapted to be liquid-tight in a closed state,

a floor which is curved inward into the interior space of the container, and

a side channel, via which hoses and channels can be led up to the reactor.

14 . The device according to claim 13 , further comprising a frame and a locking system permitting access to the reactor only during an operational shutdown.

15 . A method comprising:

cultivating cells and/or microorganisms within the reactor of the device according to claim 13 .

16 . The reactor according to claim 1 , wherein the floor, curved or curvable inward, is of pyramidal design.

17 . The reactor according to claim 4 , wherein the height h of the curvature of the floor in the ratio to the circle-equivalent diameter d of the floor is within a range of 5% to 30%.

18 . The reactor according to claim 17 , wherein the height h of the curvature of the floor in the ratio to the circle-equivalent diameter d of the floor is within a range of 10% to 20%.

19 . The container according to claim 7 , wherein the inwardly curved floor is of pyramidal design.
