Abstract

One aspect relates to an electrical bushing for use in a housing of an active implantable medical device. The electrical bushing includes an electrically insulating base body and an electrical conducting element. The conducting element is set up to establish, through the base body, an electrically conducting connection between an internal space of the housing and an external space. The conducting element is hermetically sealed with respect to the base body, and the conducting element includes a cermet.

Claims (29)

1. An electrical bushing for use in a housing of an active implantable medical device;

whereby the electrical bushing comprises at least one electrically insulating base body and at least one electrical conducting element;

whereby the conducting element establishes, through the base body, at least one electrically conductive connection between an internal space of the housing and an external space;

whereby the conducting element is hermetically sealed with respect to the base body;

whereby the at least one conducting element comprises at least one cermet;

characterized in that whereby the electrical bushing comprises at least one head part, whereby the head part comprises at least one plug connector element, whereby the plug connector element is set up to enable electrical connection of at least one plug element from the external space to the plug connector element;

whereby the conducting element comprises at least one feedthrough element, at least one contact element, which in turn is also part of the plug connector element, and at least one connecting element between the feedthrough and contact element, and the feedthrough element and the plug connector element are connected in an electrically conductive manner through the at least one connecting element, the connecting element being coupled directly to the plug connector element;

wherein the at least one connecting element, at least one contact element and the at least one feedthrough element are provided as a single part and include a cermet; and

wherein the at least one connecting element extends above the base body such that the contact element is spaced away from the base body.

2. The electrical bushing according to claim 1 , characterized in that the feedthrough element and the connecting element comprise the at least one cermet.

3. The electrical bushing according to claim 1 , characterized in that the feedthrough element is embedded in the base body.

4. The electrical bushing according to claim 1 , characterized in that the feedthrough element and the base body are connected in a bonded sintered connection.

5. The electrical bushing according to claim 1 , characterized in that the plug connector element comprises at least one plug socket.

6. The electrical bushing according to claim 1 , characterized in that the head part is made from a plastic material, at least in part.

7. The electrical bushing according to claim 1 , characterized in that the plug connector element comprises at least 4 different contact elements.

8. The electrical bushing according to claim 1 , characterized in that the plug connector element comprises at least 16 contact elements.

9. The electrical bushing according to claim 1 , characterized in that the plug connector element comprises at least 32 contact elements.

10. The electrical bushing according to claim 1 , characterized in that the plug connector element comprises at least 64 contact elements.

11. The electrical bushing according to claim 1 , characterized in that the plug connector element comprises at least 128 contact elements.

12. An implantable medical device, comprising:

at least one housing; and

at least one electrical bushing used in the housing and comprising at least one electrically insulating base body and at least one electrical conducting element;

whereby the conducting element establishes, through the base body, at least one electrically conductive connection between an internal space of the housing and an external space;

whereby the conducting element is hermetically sealed with respect to the base body;

whereby the at least one conducting element comprises at least one cermet;

characterized in that whereby the electrical bushing comprises at least one head part, whereby the head part comprises at least one plug connector element, whereby the plug connector element comprises a contact element to enable electrical connection of at least one plug element from the external space to the contact element of the plug connector element;

whereby the conducting element comprises at least one feedthrough element, and the feedthrough element and the contact element of the plug connector element are connected in an electrically conductive manner through at least one connecting element, the connecting element being coupled directly to the contact element;

wherein the at least one connecting element and the at least one feedthrough element are provided as a single part and are made of the same material; and

wherein the conducting element extends above the base body such that the contact element is spaced away from the base body.
