Abstract

The invention provides polynucleotide sequences isolated from plants encoding transcription factors. Polypeptides encoded by the polynucleotides are also provided. Products and methods of use are disclosed.

Claims (5)

1. A DNA construct comprising a polynucleotide comprising SEQ ID NO: 591 and a heterologous promoter, wherein said polynucleotide encodes a plant transcription factor, and wherein said promoter and said polynucleotide are operably linked.

2. A plant cell comprising a DNA construct that comprises a polynucleotide comprising SEQ ID NO: 591 and a heterologous promoter, wherein said polynucleotide encodes a plant transcription factor, and wherein said promoter and said polynucleotide are operably linked.

3. A method for producing a transgenic plant, comprising (a) transforming a plant cell with a DNA construct that comprises a polynucleotide comprising SEQ ID NO: 591 and a heterologous promoter, wherein said polynucleotide encodes a plant transcription factor, and wherein said promoter and said polynucleotide are operably linked; (b) culturing said transformed plant cell under conditions that promote growth of a plant, wherein a polypeptide encoded by said polynucleotide is expressed in the plant cell, and wherein said plant is a transgenic plant that exhibits a phenotype that is different from a plant of the same species that does not contain said DNA construct.

4. A transgenic plant transformed with a DNA construct that comprises a polynucleotide comprising SEQ ID NO: 591 and a heterologous promoter, wherein said polynucleotide encodes a plant transcription factor, and said promoter and said polynucleotide are operably linked; wherein a polypeptide encoded by said polynucleotide is expressed in the plant cell; and wherein said plant is a transgenic plant that exhibits a phenotype that is different from a plant of the same species that does not contain said DNA construct.

5. The transgenic plant of claim 4 , wherein the transgenic plant is a transgenic pine or a transgenic eucalyptus tree.
