Abstract

Systems, methods, and apparatus for confirming trade actions are disclosed. An example method includes displaying a trade action cell corresponding with a trade action, receiving an initiation command, determining that the trade action was initiated based on the initiation command, receiving a confirmation command, wherein the confirmation command is a selection of the same trade action cell, and executing the trade action based on reception of the confirmation command.

Claims (32)

1. A method including:

displaying, by a trading device, a trading screen, wherein the trading screen is a graphical user interface that includes a trade action cell corresponding to a trade action, wherein the trading action cell is a graphical element on the trading screen that is selectable by a user;

receiving, by the trading device, an initiation command from the user through the trading screen by a selection of the trade action cell;

determining, by the trading device, that the trade action was initiated based on the initiation command, wherein the trade action includes a trade parameter;

determining, by the trading device, a delay period, wherein the delay period is based on the trade parameter of the trade action;

changing, by the trading device, a visual representation of the trade action cell after the initiation command is received and before a confirmation command is received;

ignoring, by the trading device, any attempted confirmation command, wherein the attempted confirmation command is a selection through the trading screen of the same trade action cell during the delay period, wherein the delay period begins when the initiation command is received;

receiving, by the trading device, the confirmation command from the user through the trading screen by a selection of the same trade action cell after the delay period; and

executing, by the trading device, the trade action in response to receiving the confirmation command.

2. A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored therein instructions executable by a processor, including instructions executable to:

display a trading screen, wherein the trading screen is a graphical user interface that includes a trade action cell corresponding to a trade action, wherein the trade action cell is a graphical element on the trading screen that is selectable by a user;

receive an initiation command from the user through the trading screen by a selection of the trade action cell;

determine that the trade action was initiated based on the initiation command, wherein the trade action includes a trade parameter;

determine a delay period, wherein the delay period is based on the trade parameter of the trade action;

change a visual representation of the trade action cell after the initiation command is received and before a confirmation command is received;

ignore any attempted confirmation command, wherein the attempted confirmation command is a selection through the trading screen of the same trade action cell during the delay period wherein the delay period begins when the initiation command is received;

receive the confirmation command from the user through the trading screen by a selection of the same trade action cell after the delay period; and

execute the trade action in response to receiving the confirmation command.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein

the visual representation of the trade action cell is changed for the duration of the delay period.

4. The method of claim 3 , further including:

changing, by the trading device, the visual representation of the trade action cell after the delay period and before the confirmation command is received.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the trade parameter is a quantity associated with the trade action.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the trade parameter is a price associated with the trade action.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the trade parameter is a side associated with the trade action.

8. The computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein

the visual representation of the trade action cell is changed for the duration of the delay period.

9. The computer readable medium of claim 8 , further including instructions executable to:

change the visual representation of the trade action cell after the delay period and before the confirmation command is received.

10. The computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the trade parameter is a quantity associated with the trade action.

11. The computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the trade parameter is a price associated with the trade action.

12. The computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the trade parameter is a side associated with the trade action.
