Structures and protocols are presented for signaling a decision (processing or transmitting a medical record or other resource, e.g.) conditionally, at least partly based on one or more performance indicia (excess hospital readmissions, e.g.) or therapeutic determinants (prior success, e.g.) or privacy considerations (patient consent, e.g.).
1 . A healthcare information management system comprising:
circuitry for causing an electronic record of a first protocol for a particular condition to be annotated with a scan of a document; and
circuitry for retrieving the electronic record of the first protocol after the electronic record of the first protocol is annotated with the scan of the document partly based on an indication of a first patient undergoing the first protocol and partly based on an indication of an institutional readmission.

circuitry for detecting a wireless device within an effective range of a stationary device, the wireless device including an identifier of the first patient.

circuitry for contacting an individual by a fallback mode of communication as an automatic and conditional response to receiving no reply from the individual by a prior mode of communication, the fallback mode of communication being telephonic, the individual being the first patient.

circuitry for obtaining an indication whether or not the first patient is compliant with a health regimen;
circuitry for detecting a passive wireless transponder within a vicinity of a vehicle, the passive wireless transponder including and configured to transmit an identifier of the first patient;
circuitry for causing a locally-resident subscriber registry to be updated by removing the first patient from the locally-resident subscriber registry in response to an indication that the first patient is not in a service zone containing the locally-resident subscriber registry;
circuitry for updating the locally-resident subscriber registry in response to the first patient entering the service zone by adding the first patient to the locally-resident subscriber registry; and
circuitry for obtaining an indication that a specific pathology in a particular individual has been treated at a first hospital and an indication that the specific pathology in the particular individual has been treated at a second hospital, the particular individual being the first patient, the particular condition including the specific pathology.

circuitry for initiating a telephone call between a first individual and a second individual as an automatic response to the first individual not being compliant with a health regimen and to an indication that the second individual is available, the first individual being the first patient, the second individual being an agent at a call center comprising the circuitry for initiating the telephone call between the first individual and the second individual, the health regimen including a requirement component;
circuitry for causing a third individual to be contacted by a fallback mode of communication as a conditional response to receiving no reply from the third individual by a prior mode of communication, the prior mode of communication being telephonic, the fallback mode of communication including a delivery of a physical article to the third individual;
circuitry for responding to an event with an audible notification to a fourth individual, the event comprising the electronic record of the first protocol being annotated with the scan of the document;
circuitry for retrieving a medical treatment record of the first individual selectively in response to an explicit indication of a payment reduction that identifies the first individual, the explicit indication comprising a quantitative expression of the payment reduction having a magnitude larger than 0.1% of an actual cost of an actual stay of the first individual at a specific institution, the electronic record of the first protocol not being identical to the medical treatment record of the first individual; and
circuitry for triggering a search of a particular records archive by providing a selective search criterion, one that results in an exclusion of a first element in the particular records archive and an inclusion of a second element in the particular records archive, partly based on the indication of the first individual undergoing the first protocol and partly based on the indication of the institutional readmission, the second element in the particular records archive being the electronic record of the first protocol for the particular condition.

circuitry for retrieving a medical treatment record relating to a set of one or more pathologies selectively in response to an explicit indication of a payment reduction that identifies the set, the set of one or more pathologies including the particular condition, the particular condition including at least one of an addiction or chronic pain, the medical treatment record comprising the electronic record of the first protocol for the particular condition;
circuitry for implementing a failsafe preventing medical equipment from operating until an order associating the medical equipment with the first patient is received and until an indication is received that the first patient is in a vicinity of the medical equipment, the indication of the first patient undergoing the first protocol being the order associating the medical equipment with the first patient;
circuitry for contacting the first patient by a fallback mode of communication as an automatic and conditional response to receiving no reply from the first patient by a prior mode of communication, at least one of the fallback mode of communication or the prior mode of communication being telephonic; and
circuitry for retrieving another treatment record of the first patient selectively in response to an explicit indication of a payment reduction that identifies the first patient.
162 . The healthcare information management system of claim 1 , further comprising:
circuitry for obtaining an explicit indication whether or not a record of treating a medical condition in a particular person with the first protocol contains any extrinsic evidence that treating the medical condition with the first protocol has precedent, the particular person being the first patient, the explicit indication including a scalar quantity comprising an effectiveness indication, the record being the electronic record of the first protocol, the medical condition including the particular condition;
circuitry for determining whether or not a portable device is in a vicinity of another device, the portable device including an identifier of the first patient, the other device being mounted on a wall; and
circuitry for signaling a decision whether or not to transfer a resource to the first patient partly based on an indication that the first patient is not compliant with a health regimen and partly based on an indication that the first patient has accepted a telephone call, the resource being a physical article in a machine, the decision whether or not to transfer the resource to the first patient being manifested as a decision whether or not to dispense the physical article from the machine to the first patient.
