Abstract

The present invention relates to binding compounds specific for BTLA and uses thereof. More specifically, the invention relates to fully human antibodies that recognize human BTLA and modulate its activity in cancer, inflammatory, and autoimmune disorders.

Claims (16)

1. An isolated antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof which binds BTLA and comprises a heavy chain variable region as set forth in SEQ ID NO:25.

2. An isolated antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof which binds BTLA and comprises a light chain variable region as set forth in SEQ ID NO:32.

3. An isolated antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof, comprising a heavy chain variable region and a light chain variable region, wherein:

(a) the heavy chain variable region comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 25; and

(b) the light chain variable region comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:32.

4. An isolated antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof, which binds BTLA and comprises:

(a) a heavy chain variable region CDR1 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 19;

(b) a heavy chain variable region CDR2 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 20;

(c) a heavy chain variable region CDR3 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 21;

(d) a light chain variable region CDR1 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 26;

(e) a light chain variable region CDR2 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 27; and

(f) a light chain variable region CDR3 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 28.

5. An isolated polypeptide comprising the V L domain or the V H domain of the antibody or antigen binding fragments of claim 4 .

6. A composition comprising one or more antibodies or antigen binding fragments of claim 4 , and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.

7. A method of increasing an immune response in a subject comprising administering an effective amount of a composition comprising the antibody or antigen binding fragment of claim 4 to the subject.

8. An isolated antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof, that competes for binding to BTLA with the antibody of claim 4 .
