Abstract

A method is provide that comprises detecting an incoming or outgoing call; and sending data to a paired device for displaying a plurality of elements associated with the call in a user interface on the paired device prior to connecting the call, the plurality of elements having been obtained from a plurality of sources accessible to the mobile device. Another method is provided, which comprises receiving data from the mobile device for displaying a plurality of elements associated with the call in a user interface on a paired device prior to connecting the call, the plurality of elements having been obtained from a plurality of sources accessible to the mobile device; and displaying the plurality of elements in a user interface on the paired device using the data received from the mobile device.

Claims (39)

1. A method of operating a mobile device, the method comprising:

accessing a first set of group data from a group server remote from the mobile device, the first set of group data identifying a list of group members;

generating a group user interface comprising the first set of group data; and

adding a second set of group data to the group user interface according to capabilities of the mobile device, the second set of group data being associated with at least one of the group members and comprising data in addition to the first set of group data and which is not available from the group server.

2. The method of claim 1 , the second set of group data comprising data for leveraging communication capabilities of the mobile device.

3. The method of claim 2 , the second set of group data comprising any one or more of location data, calendar information, memos, media items, and messages.

4. The method of claim 1 , the group server being accessible to other devices associated with a user of the mobile device.

5. The method of claim 1 , the group user interface being generated automatically in response to a detected event.

6. The method of claim 5 , the event relating to an association with at least one contact.

7. The method of claim 6 , the association comprising a location of at least one contact.

8. The method of claim 6 , the association comprising a related activity or organization.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising enabling a group task to be created, and sending an update to the group server, the update comprising the group task.

10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising adding a third set of group data to the group user interface, the third set of group data including data associated with the group task.

11. A computer readable storage medium comprising computer executable instructions for operating a mobile device, the computer executable instructions comprising instructions for:

accessing a first set of group data from a group server remote from the mobile device, the first set of group data identifying a list of group members;

generating a group user interface comprising the first set of group data; and

adding a second set of group data to the group user interface according to capabilities of the mobile device, the second set of group data being associated with at least one of the group members and comprising data in addition to the first set of group data and which is not available from the group server.

12. The computer readable storage medium of claim 11 , the second set of group data comprising data for leveraging communication capabilities of the mobile device.

13. The computer readable storage medium of claim 12 , the second set of group data comprising any one or more of location data, calendar information, memos, media items, and messages.

14. The computer readable storage medium of claim 11 , the group server being accessible to other devices associated with a user of the mobile device.

15. The computer readable storage medium of claim 11 , the group user interface being generated automatically in response to a detected event.

16. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , the event relating to an association with at least one contact.

17. The computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , the association comprising a location of at least one contact.

18. The computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , the association comprising a related activity or organization.

19. The computer readable storage medium of claim 11 , further comprising instructions for enabling a group task to be created, and sending an update to the group server, the update comprising the group task.

20. The computer readable storage medium of claim 19 , further comprising adding a third set of group data to the group user interface, the third set of group data including data associated with the group task.

21. A mobile device comprising a processor, memory, and a display, the memory comprising computer executable instructions for operating the mobile device, the computer executable instructions comprising instructions for:

accessing a first set of group data from a group server remote from the mobile device, the first set of group data identifying a list of group members;

generating a group user interface comprising the first set of group data; and

adding a second set of group data to the group user interface according to capabilities of the mobile device, the second set of group data being associated with at least one of the group members and comprising data in addition to the first set of group data and which is not available from the group server.

22. The mobile device of claim 21 , the second set of group data comprising data for leveraging communication capabilities of the mobile device.

23. The mobile device of claim 22 , the second set of group data comprising any one or more of location data, calendar information, memos, media items, and messages.

24. The mobile device of claim 21 , the group server being accessible to other devices associated with a user of the mobile device.

25. The mobile device of claim 21 , the group user interface being generated automatically in response to a detected event.

26. The mobile device of claim 25 , the event relating to an association with at least one contact.

27. The mobile device of claim 26 , the association comprising a location of at least one contact.

28. The mobile device of claim 26 , the association comprising a related activity or organization.

29. The mobile device of claim 21 , further comprising instructions for enabling a group task to be created, and sending an update to the group server, the update comprising the group task.

30. The mobile device of claim 29 , further comprising adding a third set of group data to the group user interface, the third set of group data including data associated with the group task.
