Abstract

A method for delivering a biologic pharmaceutical, comprising: administering an effective amount of a biologic pharmaceutical to a patient in need thereof by perispinal injection, without direct intrathecal or direct epidural injection.

Claims (7)

1. A method for delivering a biologic pharmaceutical, comprising:

administering an effective amount of a biologic pharmaceutical to a patient in need thereof by perispinal injection, without direct intrathecal or direct epidural injection.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said biologic is a TNF antagonist.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein said biologic is a TNF antagonist selected from the group consisting of etanercept, infliximab, CDP571 (a humanized monoclonal anti-TNF -alpha IgG4 antibody), CD P 870 (a humanized monoclonal anti-TNF-alpha antibody fragment), D2E7 (a human anti-TNF mAb), soluble TNF receptor Type I, pegylated soluble TNF receptor Type I (PEGs TNF-R1) and onercept, a recombinant TNF binding protein (r-TBP-1).

4. The method of claim 2 , wherein said biologic is D2E7 (a human anti-TNF mAb).

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein said biologic is an interleukin-1 antagonist.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein said effective amount of a biologic is delivered to the cerebrospinal fluid of a human by perispinal injection without direct intrathecal or direct epidural injection.
