Abstract

Provided are body corrective cosmetic formulations and methods of use thereof.

Claims (144)

1. A body corrective film prepared by a process comprising the steps of:

a) applying a reactive reinforcing component to skin, wherein the reactive reinforcing component comprises a (i) a reactive constituent comprising at least one organopolysiloxane and at least one hydride functionalized polysiloxane and (ii) a reinforcing constituent;

wherein said organopolysiloxanes are polymers of formula II and said hydride functionalized polysiloxane is a polymer of formula III:

R 1a′ , R 3a′ , R 4a′ , R 5a′ , R 6a′ , R 8a′ , R 9a′ and R 10a′ are each independently C1-20 alkyl, C2-20 alkenyl, C5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C1-20 alkoxyl;

p and q are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

R 1b , R 2b , R 3b , R 6b , R 7b , and R 8b are each independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxy;

R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are in each occurrence independently hydrogen, C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl, wherein at least two of R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are hydrogen;

m and n are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

wherein said organopolysiloxane is a combination of at least one high viscosity organopolysiloxane and at least one low viscosity organopolysiloxane;

wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 100,000 to about 500,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 10,000 to about 50,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane has a viscosity of about 2 to about 10,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.; and

b) applying a cross-linking component to said reactive reinforcing component,

wherein said cross-linking component facilitates in situ cross-linking of the reactive reinforcing component, such that a body corrective film is formed on skin.

2. A method for correcting skin imperfections on a subject's skin comprising applying to said subject's skin a formulation comprising:

a) a reactive reinforcing component, wherein the reactive reinforcing component comprises a (i) a reactive constituent comprising at least one organopolysiloxane and at least one hydride functionalized polysiloxane and (ii) a reinforcing constituent;

wherein said organopolysiloxanes are polymers of formula II and said hydride functionalized polysiloxane is a polymer of formula III:

R 1a′ , R 3a′ , R 4a′ , R 5a′ , R 6a′ , R 8a′ , R 9a′ and R 10a′ are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl;

p and q are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

R 1b , R 2b , R 3b , R 6b , R 7b , and R 8b are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxy;

R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are in each occurrence independently hydrogen, C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl, wherein at least two of R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are hydrogen;

m and n are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

wherein said organopolysiloxane is a combination of at least one high viscosity organopolysiloxane and at least one low viscosity organopolysiloxane;

wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 100,000 to about 500,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 200 to about 50,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane has a viscosity of about 2 to about 10,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.; and

b) a cross-linking component;

wherein said cross-linking component facilitates in situ cross-linking of the reactive reinforcing component, such that a film is formed on skin, thereby correcting skin imperfections.

3. A method for delivering one or more agents to a subject, comprising applying to the subject's skin a formulation comprising:

a) a first reactive reinforcing component optionally comprising one or more said agents, wherein the reactive reinforcing component comprises a (i) a reactive constituent comprising at least one organopolysiloxane and at least one hydride functionalized polysiloxane and (ii) a reinforcing constituent;

wherein said organopolysiloxanes are polymers of formula II and said hydride functionalized polysiloxane is a polymer of formula III:

R 1a′ , R 3a′ , R 4a′ , R 5a′ , R 6a′ , R 8a′ , R 9a′ and R 10a′ are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl;

p and q are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

R 1b , R 2b , R 3b , R 6b , R 7b , and R 8b are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxy;

R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are in each occurrence independently hydrogen, C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl, wherein at least two of R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are hydrogen;

m and n are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

wherein said organopolysiloxane is a combination of at least one high viscosity organopolysiloxane and at least one low viscosity organopolysiloxane;

wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 100,000 to about 500,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 200 to about 50,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane has a viscosity of about 2 to about 10,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.; and

b) a second cross-linking component optionally comprising one or more said agents;

wherein said cross-linking component facilitates in situ cross-linking of the reactive reinforcing component such that a film is formed on skin, thereby delivering the agent to the subject.

4. A wrinkle corrective formulation for application to the skin, comprising:

a) a reactive reinforcing component, wherein the reactive reinforcing component comprises a (i) a reactive constituent comprising at least one organopolysiloxane and at least one hydride functionalized polysiloxane and (ii) a reinforcing constituent;

wherein said organopolysiloxanes are polymers of formula II and said hydride functionalized polysiloxane is a polymer of formula III:

R 1a′ , R 3a′ , R 4a′ , R 5a′ , R 6a′ , R 8a′ , R 9a′ and R 10a′ are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl;

p and q are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

R 1b , R 2b , R 3b , R 6b , R 7b , and R 8b are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxy;

R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are in each occurrence independently hydrogen, C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl, wherein at least two of R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are hydrogen;

m and n are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

wherein said organopolysiloxane is a combination of at least one high viscosity organopolysiloxane and at least one low viscosity organopolysiloxane;

wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 100,000 to about 500,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 10,000 to about 50,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane has a viscosity of about 2 to about 10,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.; and

b) a cross-linking component;

wherein said cross-linking component facilitates in situ cross-linking of the reactive reinforcing component, such that a wrinkle corrective film is formed on skin, and wherein said film when formed reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

5. A bag reducing formulation for application to the skin, comprising:

a) a reactive reinforcing component, wherein the reactive reinforcing component comprises a (i) a reactive constituent comprising at least one organopolysiloxane and at least one hydride functionalized polysiloxane and (ii) a reinforcing constituent;

wherein said organopolysiloxanes are polymers of formula II and said hydride functionalized polysiloxane is a polymer of formula III:

R 1a′ , R 3a′ , R 4a′ , R 5a′ , R 6a′ , R 8a′ , R 9a′ and R 10a′ are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl;

p and q are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

R 1b , R 2b , R 3b , R 6b , R 7b , and R 8b are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxy;

R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are in each occurrence independently hydrogen, C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl, wherein at least two of R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are hydrogen;

m and n are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

wherein said organopolysiloxane is a combination of at least one high viscosity organopolysiloxane and at least one low viscosity organopolysiloxane;

wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 100,000 to about 500,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 10,000 to about 50,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane has a viscosity of about 2 to about 10,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.; and

b) a cross-linking component;

wherein said cross-linking component facilitates in situ cross-linking of the reactive reinforcing component, such that a bag reducing film is formed on skin, and wherein said film when formed reduces the appearance of bags under the eyes.

6. A firmness imparting formulation for application to the skin, comprising:

a) a reactive reinforcing component, wherein the reactive reinforcing component comprises a (i) a reactive constituent comprising at least one organopolysiloxane and at least one hydride functionalized polysiloxane and (ii) a reinforcing constituent;

wherein said organopolysiloxanes are polymers of formula II and said hydride functionalized polysiloxane is a polymer of formula III:

R 1a′ , R 3a′ , R 4a′ , R 5a′ , R 6a′ , R 8a′ , R 9a′ and R 10a′ are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl;

p and q are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

R 1b , R 2b , R 3b , R 6b , R 7b , and R 8b are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxy;

R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are in each occurrence independently hydrogen, C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl, wherein at least two of R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are hydrogen;

m and n are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

wherein said organopolysiloxane is a combination of at least one high viscosity organopolysiloxane and at least one low viscosity organopolysiloxane;

wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 100,000 to about 500,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 10,000 to about 50,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane has a viscosity of about 2 to about 10,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.; and

b) a cross-linking component;

wherein said cross-linking component facilitates in situ cross-linking of the reactive reinforcing component, such that a firmness imparting film is formed on skin, and wherein said film when formed imparts an appearance of firmness to the skin.

7. A body corrective formulation for application to skin, comprising:

a) a reactive reinforcing component comprising (i) a reactive constituent comprising at least one organopolysiloxane and at least one hydride functionalized polysiloxane and (ii) a reinforcing constituent;

wherein said organopolysiloxanes are polymers of formula II and said hydride functionalized polysiloxane is a polymer of formula III:

wherein

R 1a′ , R 3a′ , R 4a′ , R 5a′ , R 6a′ , R 8a′ , R 9a′ and R 10a′ are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl;

p and q are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

R 1b , R 2b , R 3b , R 6b , R 7b , and R 8b are in each occurrence independently C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxy;

R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are in each occurrence independently hydrogen, C 1-20 alkyl, C 2-20 alkenyl, C 5-10 aryl, hydroxyl or C 1-20 alkoxyl, wherein at least two of R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are hydrogen;

m and n are each independently an integer from between 10 and 6000;

wherein said organopolysiloxane is a combination of at least one high viscosity organopolysiloxane and at least one low viscosity organopolysiloxane;

wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 100,000 to about 500,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 10,000 to about 50,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.;

wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane has a viscosity of about 2 to about 10,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.; and

b) a cross-linking component;

wherein said cross-linking component facilitates in situ cross-linking of the reactive reinforcing component, such that a body corrective film is formed on the skin.

8. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane comprises vinyl terminated organopolysiloxane.

9. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane comprises vinyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane.

10. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 500 to about 50,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.

11. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane comprises vinyl terminated organopolysiloxane.

12. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane comprises vinyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane.

13. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane is alkyl terminated.

14. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane comprises trimethylsiloxy terminated methylhydrosiloxane-dimethylsiloxane copolymers.

15. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane has at least 2 Si—H units on average.

16. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said reactive reinforcing component has a vinyl organopolysiloxane to functional hydride molar ratio of about 1:10 to about 1:100.

17. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said reinforcing constituent is selected from the group consisting of optionally surface treated mica, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, aluminum oxide, clay or silica.

18. The formulation of claim 17 , wherein said reinforcing constituent is silica.

19. The formulation of claim 18 , wherein said silica is fumed silica.

20. The formulation of claim 19 , wherein said fumed silica is surface treated with hexamethyldisilazane.

21. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein the crosslinking component comprises a metal catalyst.

22. The formulation of claim 21 , wherein said catalyst is a platinum catalyst.

23. The formulation of claim 21 , wherein the catalyst comprises about 0.005 to about 0.05% of the cross-linking component.

24. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein the formulation, when crosslinked, produces a film having a leather adhesive force of greater than about 20 N/mm; a Young's Modulus of about 0.01 to about 1 MPa; a fracture strain of at least about 150%; a hysteresis of less than about 5%; or a combination thereof.

25. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein said reactive reinforcing component has a vinyl organopolysiloxane to functional hydride molar ratio of about 1:15 to about 1:40.

26. The formulation of claim 7 , wherein R 1b , R 2b , R 3b , R 6b , R 7b and R 8b are C 1-20 alkyl.

27. The method of claim 2 , wherein correcting skin imperfections on a subject's skin is selected from reducing or masking the appearance of wrinkles or under eye bags on a subject's skin.

28. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein

R 1a′ , R 3a′ , R 4a′ , R 5a′ , R 6a′ , R 8a′ , R 9a′ and R 10a′ are each independently C 1-20 alkyl;

R 1b , R 2b , R 3b , R 6b , R 7b , and R 8b are C 1-20 alkyl;

R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are each independently selected from hydrogen, C 1-20 alkyl, or C 5-10 aryl, wherein at least two of R 4b , R 5b , R 9b and R 10b are hydrogen.

29. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane comprises vinyl terminated organopolysiloxane.

30. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said high viscosity organopolysiloxane comprises vinyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane.

31. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane has a viscosity of about 500 to about 50,000 cSt or cP at 25° C.

32. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane comprises vinyl terminated organopolysiloxane.

33. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said low viscosity organopolysiloxane comprises vinyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane.

34. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane is alkyl terminated.

35. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane comprises trimethylsiloxy terminated methylhydrosiloxane-dimethylsiloxane copolymers.

36. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said hydride functionalized polysiloxane has at least 2 Si—H units on average.

37. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said reactive reinforcing component has a vinyl organopolysiloxane to functional hydride molar ratio of about 1:10 to about 1:100.

38. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said reinforcing constituent is selected from the group consisting of optionally surface treated mica, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, aluminum oxide, clay or silica.

39. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said reinforcing constituent is silica.

40. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein the crosslinking component comprises a metal catalyst.

41. The formulation of claim 40 , wherein said catalyst is a platinum catalyst.

42. The formulation of claim 41 , wherein the catalyst comprises about 0.005 to about 0.05% of the cross-linking component.

43. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein said reactive reinforcing component has a vinyl organopolysiloxane to functional hydride molar ratio of about 1:15 to about 1:40.

44. The formulation of claim 3 , wherein R 1b , R 2b , R 3b , R 6b , R 7b and R 8b are C 1-20 alkyl.
