Abstract

In embodiments of the present invention, systems and methods for mobile media services media services may comprise content delivery via a mobile platform. User engagement may be facilitated by developing locally produced, personalized channels for delivery of relevant content. The mobile platform may enable building mobile-oriented communities around original content. Content may be local, authentic, relevant, insider, original, aggregated, a multi-modal mash-up, and the like.

Claims (82)

1 . A method, comprising:

transmitting a message comprising content to a handset;

soliciting a response message, wherein the solicitation indicates a short form command structure for the response;

receiving a response from the handset comprising a short form command; and

processing the response using the short form command.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the short form command is at least one of a number, a letter, multiples of letters, short words, and a number and a letter.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the short form command increments with each request for response.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the short form command indicates a desire to receive all available content associated with the message.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the short form command indicates that no further messages should be sent.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the short form command indicates that the user should receive a phone call.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the short form command is persistent for a defined period of time.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the short form command is persistent until a set of commands allocated to at least one of the user and channel has been exhausted.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the short form command is unique to at least one of an individual user, a set of users with similar subscription profiles, a channel, and each channel to which a user is subscribed.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein interpreting the short form command is done without regard to at least one of the channel the user is currently receiving messages from, a message the user received, and when a message was received by a user.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the short form command facilitates navigation of content in a non-templated fashion, user acquisition, subscription, and profile management.

12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content of the message is transformed for delivery to the handset.

13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the message content relates to at least one of weather, advertising, news, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, culture, community, user-generated content, and social networking

14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the message is transmitted via at least one of SMS, MMS, WAP, the Internet, and e-mail.

15 . A system, comprising:

a message comprising content transmitted to a handset;

a response message solicitation, wherein the solicitation indicates a short form command structure for the response;

a response received from the handset comprising a short form command; and

the processed response using the short form command.

16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the short form command is at least one of a number, a letter, multiples of letters, short words, and a number and a letter.

17 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the short form command increments with each request for response.

18 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the short form command indicates a desire to receive all available content associated with the message.

19 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the short form command indicates that no further messages should be sent.

20 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the short form command indicates that the user should receive a phone call.

21 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the short form command is persistent for a defined period of time.

22 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the short form command is persistent until a set of commands allocated to at least one of the user and channel has been exhausted.

23 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the short form command is unique to at least one of an individual user, a set of users with similar subscription profiles, a channel, and each channel to which a user is subscribed.

24 . The system of claim 15 , wherein interpreting the short form command is done without regard to at least one of the channel the user is currently receiving messages from, a message the user received, and when a message was received by a user.

25 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the short form command facilitates navigation of content in a non-templated fashion, user acquisition, subscription, and profile management.

26 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the content of the message is transformed for delivery to the handset.

28 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the message is transmitted via at least one of SMS, MMS, WAP, the Internet, and e-mail.

29 . A method of advertising on a mobile media services platform, comprising:

delivering a message comprising content to a user handset and associating an advertisement with the message;

offering the user additional advertisement information from within the advertisement;

associating at least one request for response with the offer, wherein the request for response is associated with a short form command structure; and

transmitting the additional advertisement information in accordance with the short form command.

30 . The method of claim 29 , further comprising tracking the short form command to target advertisements to specific users.

31 . The method of claim 29 , further comprising tracking the short form command to measure unique impressions.

32 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the advertisement is associated contextually with the content.

33 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the additional advertisement information is associated contextually with the content.

34 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the additional advertisement information is accessible on at least one of the Internet, a Web search page, Internet Yellow Pages, mobile search, SMS, WAP, directory assistance, an instant message, a click-to-call link, another channel, e-mail, and a podcast.

35 . The method of claim 29 , wherein transmitting comprises accessing a WAP interface.

36 . The method of claim 29 , wherein transmitting comprises accessing an internet browser.

37 . The method of claim 29 , wherein transmitting comprises accessing a telephony function.

38 . The method of claim 29 , wherein transmitting comprises accessing an e-mail application.

39 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the short form command is at least one of a number, a letter, multiples of letters, short words, and a number and a letter.

40 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the short form command increments with each request for response.

41 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the short form command indicates a desire to receive all available content associated with the message.

42 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the short form command indicates that no further messages should be sent.

43 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the short form command indicates that the user should receive a phone call.

44 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the short form command is persistent for a defined period of time.

45 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the short form command is persistent until a set of commands allocated to at least one of the user and channel has been exhausted.

46 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the short form command is unique to at least one of an individual user, a set of users with similar subscription profiles, a channel, and each channel to which a user is subscribed.

47 . The method of claim 29 , wherein disambiguating the short form command is done without regard to at least one of the channel the user is currently receiving messages.

48 . A system of advertising on a mobile media services platform, comprising:

a message comprising content delivered to a user handset and associating an advertisement with the message;

additional advertisement information offered to a user from within the advertisement;

at least one request for response associated with the offer, wherein the request for response is associated with a short form command structure; and

the additional advertisement information transmitted in accordance with the short form command.

49 . The system of claim 48 , further comprising the short form command tracked to target advertisements to specific users.

50 . The system of claim 48 , further comprising the short form command tracked to measure unique impressions.

51 . The system of claim 48 , wherein the advertisement is associated contextually with the content.

52 . The system of claim 48 , wherein the additional advertisement information is associated contextually with the content.

53 . The system of claim 48 , wherein the additional advertisement information is accessible on at least one of the Internet, a Web search page, Internet Yellow Pages, mobile search, SMS, WAP, directory assistance, an instant message, a click-to-call link, another channel, e-mail, and a podcast.

54 . The system of claim 48 , wherein transmitting comprises accessing a WAP interface.

55 . The system of claim 48 , wherein transmitting comprises accessing an internet browser.

56 . The system of claim 48 , wherein transmitting comprises accessing a telephony function.

57 . The system of claim 48 , wherein transmitting comprises accessing an e-mail application.

59 . The system of claim 48 , wherein the short form command increments with each request for response.

60 . The system of claim 48 , wherein the short form command indicates a desire to receive all available content associated with the message.

61 . The system of claim 48 , wherein the short form command indicates that no further messages should be sent.

62 . The system of claim 48 , wherein the short form command indicates that the user should receive a phone call.

63 . The system of claim 48 , wherein the short form command is persistent for a defined period of time.

64 . The system of claim 48 , wherein the short form command is persistent until a set of commands allocated to at least one of the user and channel has been exhausted.

65 . The system of claim 48 , wherein the short form command is unique to at least one of an individual user, a set of users with similar subscription profiles, a channel, and each channel to which a user is subscribed.

66 . The system of claim 48 , wherein disambiguating the short form command is done without regard to at least one of the channel the user is currently receiving messages.
