SYSTEM TO DETERMINE POSTING PAYMENT AMOUNT FOR BASED ON A NUMBER OF VIEWS
Products and processes are provided in which information is received about a post for an item to be sold. The post offering the item for sale is published via a posting site and the number of people who viewed the post is determined. Based on the number of people who viewed the post, a posting payment amount is determined.
1 . Apparatus, comprising:
a processor;
a communication port coupled to the processor; and
a storage device operatively coupled to the processor and containing instructions configured to direct the processor to:
receive posting information about a post offering an item for sale;
publish the post offering the item for sale via a posting site, the post being based on the posting information;
determine a number of people who viewed the post; and
determine the posting payment amount based on the number of people who viewed the post.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the posting information includes account information identifying of an account to be credited or debited.
3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , including instructions configured to direct the processor to validate the account information.
4 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the account information comprises at least one of debit and credit card information.
5 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the account information identifies an account of a party other than a seller of the item.
6 . The apparatus of claim 2 , including instructions configured to direct the processor to transfer the posting payment amount using the account information.
7 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the posting payment amount is transferred when the item is sold.
8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the posting amount is a positive amount that is paid to an entity from which the posting information about the post is received.
9 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the posting payment amount is a negative amount that is paid from an entity, from which the posting information about the post is received, to a posting site.
10 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions configured to direct the processor to determine the posting payment amount comprises instructions configured to direct the processor to determine a commission arrangement.
11 . A method to determine a posting payment amount, the method comprising:
receiving posting information about a post offering an item for sale;
publishing the post offering the item for sale via a posting site, the post being based on the posting information;
determining a number of people who viewed the post; and
using at least one processor, determining the posting payment amount based on the number of people who viewed the post.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the posting information includes account information identifying an account to be credited or debited.
13 . The method of claim 12 , including validating the account information.
14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the account information comprises at least one of debit and credit card information.
15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the account information identifies an account of a party other than a seller of the item.
16 . The method of claim 12 , including transferring the posting payment amount using the account information.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the posting payment amount is transferred when the item is sold.
18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the posting payment amount is a positive amount that is paid to an entity from which the posting information about the post is received.
19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the posting payment amount is a negative amount that is paid from an entity, from which the posting information about the post is received, to a posting site.
20 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the determining of the posting payment amount comprises determining a commission arrangement.
21 . A computer readable medium storing instructions configured to direct a processor to:
receive posting information about a post offering an item for sale;
publish the post offering the item for sale via a posting site, the post being based on the posting information;
determine a number of people who viewed the post; and
determine the posting payment amount based on the number of people who viewed the post.
