Synthesis of platinum and palladium complexes as narrow-band phosphorescent emitters for full color displays
View Patent ↗Platinum and palladium complexes are disclosed that can be useful as narrow band phosphorescent emitters. Also disclosed are methods for preparing and using the platinum and palladium complexes.
1. A complex of the formula:
wherein:
M is platinum or palladium,
Ar 1 is a substituted or unsubstituted pyridinyl, isoquinolinyl, quinazolinyl, or imidazolyl ring when M is palladium, and Ar 1 is a substituted or unsubstituted pyridinyl, isoquinolinyl, quinazolinyl, imidazolyl pyrazolyl, quinolinyl, triazolyl, benzimidazolyl, benzoxazolyl, or benzothiazolyl ring when M is platinum,
each of Ar 2 , Ar 3 , and Ar 4 is independently a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl or pyridyl ring;
Ar 5 is a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl ring,
Ar 6 is a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl ring, or is absent,
each of X 1 , X 2 , X 3 , and X 4 is independently a carbon or nitrogen atom,
