Abstract

There is provided an X-ray CT apparatus including: an X-ray source; a wedge which is disposed between the X-ray source and a subject and in which a shield blocking a part of an X ray is formed; a wedge driving unit for moving position of the wedge; and a system control unit controlling the wedge driving unit during a scan execution period to control the position of the wedge.

Claims (25)

1. An X-ray CT apparatus, comprising:

an X-ray source;

a wedge which is disposed between the X-ray source and a subject and in which a shield blocking a part of an X ray is formed;

a wedge driving unit configured to move a position of the wedge in a slice thickness direction; and

a system control unit configured to control the wedge driving unit during a scan execution period to control the position of the wedge, wherein the system control unit is configured to

one of (1) control the wedge to a first position where first X-rays, which spread in a slice thickness direction of the X-ray source, unnecessary for reconstruction of an image for medical use are blocked in a non-reconstruction range at a start of the scan execution period, and (2) control the wedge to move to a second position where second X-rays unnecessary for reconstruction of the image for medical use are blocked in a non-reconstruction range at an end of the scan, and

control the wedge to move to a third position so as not to block third X-rays in a reconstruction range of the image for medical use.

2. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the wedge has the shield on the X-ray source side.

3. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the shield has a shape which does not exert influence on a fan angle of the X ray.

4. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein the shield is made of lead.

5. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the wedge has the shield in a side face of the wedge.

6. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein the shield has a shape which does not exert influence on a fan angle of the X ray.

7. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the shield is made of lead.

8. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the wedge driving unit has a position detecting unit configured to detect the first and second positions where the is first and second X-rays are blocked, respectively, and to detect the third position.

9. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein the position detecting unit comprises a block position sensor configured to detect the first and second positions where the first and second X-rays are blocked, respectively, and a center position sensor configured to detect the third position.

10. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein each of the block position sensor and the center position sensor is constructed by a photosensor, and a ladder pattern of different reflection ratios is disposed in the wedge so that reflection light enters the block position sensor in the first and second block positions, and reflection light enters the center position sensor in the third position.

11. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the system control unit is further configured to control the wedge to the first position where the first X-rays, which spread in the slice thickness direction of the X-ray source, unnecessary for reconstruction of the image for medical use are blocked in the non-reconstruction range at the start of the scan execution period, and control the wedge to move to the second position where the second X-rays unnecessary for reconstruction of the image for medical use are blocked in the non-reconstruction range at the end of the scan.

12. The X-ray CT apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the system control unit is further configured to control the wedge to move to a wedge center position so as not to block X-rays in the reconstruction range of the image for medical use.

13. An X-ray CT apparatus, comprising:

an X-ray source;

a wedge which is disposed between the X-ray source and a subject and in which a shield blocking a part of an X ray is formed;

a wedge driving unit configured to move a position of the wedge in a slice thickness direction; and

a system control unit configured to control the wedge driving unit during a scan execution period to control the position of the wedge, wherein the system control unit is configured to

one of (1) control the wedge to a first position where first X-rays, which spread in a slice thickness direction of the X-ray source, unnecessary for reconstruction of an image for medical use are blocked in a non-reconstruction range at a start of the scan execution period, and (2) control the wedge to move to a second position where second X-rays unnecessary for reconstruction of the image for medical use are blocked in a non-reconstruction range at an end of the scan, and

control the wedge to move to a wedge center position so as not to block third X-rays in a reconstruction range of the image for medical use.
