Abstract

A nonaqueous electrolyte containing a monofluorophosphate and/or a difluorophosphate and a compound having a specific chemical structure or specific properties. The nonaqueous electrolyte can contain at least one of a saturated chain hydrocarbon, a saturated cyclic hydrocarbon, an aromatic compound having a halogen atom and an ether having a fluorine atom.

Claims (18)

1. A nonaqueous electrolyte mainly comprising a nonaqueous solvent and an electrolyte dissolved therein, wherein the nonaqueous electrolyte comprises at least one aromatic compound having a halogen atom selected from the group consisting of, chlorobenzene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,3-dichlorobenzene, 1,4-dichlorobenzene, 1,2,4-trifluorobenzene, 1,3,5-trifluorobenzene, 1,2,4,6-tetrafluorobenzene, hexafluorobenzene, 2-fluorotoluene, 3-fluorotoluene, 4-fluorotoluene, fluoromethylbenzene, difluoromethylbenzene, trifluoromethylbenzene, 2-fluoro-1-trifluoromethylbenzene, 4-fluoro-1-trifluoromethylbenzene, 2-fluorobiphenyl, o-cyclohexylfluorobenzene and p-cyclohexylfluorobenzene, and at least one metal salt of at least one of a monofluorophosphate and a difluorophosphate.

2. The nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 1 , wherein the aromatic compound having a halogen atom is contained in an amount of 0.01-15% by mass based on the whole nonaqueous electrolyte.

3. The nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 1 , wherein the metal salt of the monofluorophosphate and/or difluorophosphate is contained in a total amount of from 0.001% by mass to 5% by mass based on the whole nonaqueous electrolyte.

4. A nonaqueous-electrolyte secondary battery, comprising the nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 1 , wherein the nonaqueous-electrolyte secondary battery including a negative electrode employing an active material comprising a carbonaceous material.

5. A nonaqueous-electrolyte secondary battery employing the nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 1 .

6. A nonaqueous-electrolyte secondary battery comprising a negative electrode and a positive electrode which are capable of occluding/releasing lithium ions and a nonaqueous electrolyte, wherein the nonaqueous electrolyte is the nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 1 .

7. The nonaqueous-electrolyte secondary battery according to claim 6 , wherein the negative electrode comprises a carbonaceous material.

8. The nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 1 , comprising at least one aromatic compound having a halogen atom selected from the group consisting of 2-fluorotoluene, and 4-fluorotoluene and trifluoromethylbenzene.

9. The nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 1 , wherein the metal salt of the monofluorophosphate and/or the difluorophosphate is a lithium salt.

The nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 1 , wherein the aromatic compound having the halogen atom is at least one selected from the group consisting of, chlorobenzene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,3-dichlorobenzene, 1,4-dichlorobenzene, 1,2,4-trifluorobenzene, 1,3,5-trifluorobenzene, 1,2,4,6-tetrafluorobenzene, hexafluorobenzene, 2-fluorotoluene, 3-fluorotoluene, 4-fluorotoluene, 2-fluorobiphenyl, o-cyclohexylfluorobenzene, and p-cyclohexylfluorobenzene.

11. The nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 1 , wherein the nonaqueous solvent further comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of fluorobenzene, 1,2-difluorobenzene, 1,3-difluorobenzene and 1,4-difluorobenzene.

12. A nonaqueous electrolyte, comprising:

a nonaqueous solvent, and

an electrolyte dissolved in the nonaqueous solvent;

wherein the nonaqueous electrolyte comprises at least one aromatic compound having a halogen atom selected from the group consisting of, chlorobenzene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,3-dichlorobenzene, b 1 , 4 -dichlorobenzene, 1,2,4-trifluorobenzene, 1,3,5-trifluorobenzene, 1,2,4,6-tetrafluorobenzene, hexafluorobenzene, 2-fluorotoluene, 3-fluorotoluene, 4-fluorotoluene, fluoromethylbenzene, difluoromethylbenzene, trifluoromethylbenzene, 2-fluoro-1-trifluoromethylbenzene, 4-fluoro-1-trifluoromethylbenzene, 2-fluorobiphenyl, o-cyclohexylfluorobenzene and p-cyclohexylfluorobenzene, and at least one metal salt of at least one selected from the group consisting of a monofluorophosphate and a difluorophosphate.

13. The nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 12 , wherein the metal salt of the monofluorophosphate and/or the difluorophosphate is a lithium salt.

The nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 12 , wherein the aromatic compound having the halogen atom is at least one selected from the group consisting of, chlorobenzene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,3-dichlorobenzene, 1,4-dichlorobenzene, 1,2,4-trifluorobenzene, 1,3,5-trifluorobenzene, 1,2,4,6-tetrafluorobenzene, hexafluorobenzene, 2-fluorotoluene, 3-fluorotoluene, 4-fluorotoluene, 2-fluorobiphenyl, o-cyclohexylfluorobenzene, and p-cyclohexylfluorobenzene.

15. The nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 12 , wherein the nonaqueous solvent further comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of fluorobenzene, 1,2-difluorobenzene, 1,3-difluorobenzene and 1,4-difluorobenzene.
