SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE ORGANIZED DISTRIBUTION OF RELATED DATA
Embodiments relate to methods and systems for building representations of related subjects. The representations may include a plurality of nodes, each being associated with a subject. Users may be able to access records and/or source documents related to a plurality of subjects and add or modify node characteristics based thereon. Users may be able to perform an interaction and/or modification related to a record page. Other users (e.g., users connected to the record page) may be notified of such interaction and/or modification.
1 . A method of building a genealogical record comprising:
providing a database comprising records, each record including information relating to an individual;
providing a first account of a first user, the first account comprising a first genealogical record having a plurality of nodes linked together, wherein each node is associated with an individual of the first genealogical record;
providing a second account of a second user, the second account comprising a second genealogical record having a plurality of nodes linked together, wherein each node is associated with an individual of the second genealogical record;
identifying a first record in the database;
linking a first node of the first genealogical record with the first record based on the first node and the first record representing the same individual;
linking a second node of the second genealogical record with the first record based on the second node and the first record representing the same individual;
modifying the first record based on input from a third user; and
notifying the first user and the second user of the modification to the first record.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying a first record in the database comprises:
receiving input from the first user that the first record corresponds to the first node; or
receiving input from the second user that the first record corresponds to the second node.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein linking the first node with the first record comprises: receiving input from the first user to link the first node with the first record.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first user and the second user are notified of the modifications to the first record based on a relevance evaluation of the notification.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: adding an additional node to the first genealogical record or the second genealogical record based on the modification of the first record.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving instructions from the first user indicating agreement to allow the first node to be linked to the first record; or
receiving instructions from the second user indicating agreement to allow the second node to be linked to the first record.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first record comprises a record selected from the group consisting of:
a government record;
a personal record;
a relationship record;
a marriage record.
8 . A method of building a genealogical record comprising:
providing a database comprising records, each record including information relating to an individual;
providing a first account of a first user, the first account comprising a first genealogical record having a plurality of nodes linked together, wherein each node represents an individual of the first genealogical record;
identifying a first record in the database;
linking a first node of the first genealogical record with the first record based on the first node and the first record representing the same individual;
modifying the first record based on input from a user; and
notifying the first user of the modification to the first record.
9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
providing a second account of a second user, the second account comprising a second genealogical record having a plurality of nodes linked together, wherein each node represents an individual of the second genealogical record;
linking a second node of the second genealogical record with the first record based on the second node and the first record representing the same individual; and
notifying the second user of the modification to the first record.
10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein identifying a first record in the database comprises: receiving input from the first user that the first record corresponds to the first node.
11 . The method of claim 8 , wherein linking the first node with the first record comprises: receiving input from the first user to link the first node with the first record.
12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the first user is notified of the modifications to the first record based on a relevance evaluation of the notification.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising: modifying the first node based on receiving authorization from the first user.
14 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising: adding an additional node to the first genealogical record based on the modification of the first record.
15 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising: receiving instructions from the first user indicating agreement to allow the first node to be linked to the first record.
16 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the first record comprises a record selected from the group consisting of:
a government record;
a personal record;
a relationship record;
a marriage record.
17 . A method of building a genealogical record comprising:
providing a first account associated with a first user, the first account comprising a first genealogical record having a plurality of nodes linked together, wherein each node represents an individual of the first genealogical record;
providing a second account associated with a second user, the second account comprising a second genealogical record having a plurality of nodes linked together, wherein each node represents an individual of the second genealogical record;
identifying a first node of the first genealogical record and a second node of the second genealogical record based on the first and second nodes representing the same individual;
linking the first node with the second node;
modifying the second node based on input from the second user; and
notifying the first user of the modification of the second node.
18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising: adding an additional node to the first genealogical record based on the modification of the second node.
19 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising: identifying the first node and the second node based on input received from the first user or the second user.
20 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising: modifying the first node based on the modification of the second node.
