Liquid developer, developer cartridge, process cartridge, image forming apparatus, and image forming method

1. A liquid developer comprising:

a carrier liquid; and

toner particles containing a binder resin and a pigment surface-treated with a polyallylamine compound as a colorant.

2. The liquid developer according to claim 1 , wherein an acid value of the binder resin is in the range of 1 mg KOH/g to 30 mg KOH/g.

3. The liquid developer according to claim 1 , wherein the surface treatment is a flushing treatment of adding a resin and the polyallylamine compound to a dispersion liquid of the pigment, and performing mixing and stirring.

4. The liquid developer according to claim 2 , wherein the surface treatment is a flushing treatment of adding a resin and the polyallylamine compound to a dispersion liquid of the pigment, and performing mixing and stirring.

5. The liquid developer according to claim 1 , wherein a weight average molecular weight of the polyallylamine compound is in the range of 15,000 to 30,000.

6. The liquid developer according to claim 2 , wherein a weight average molecular weight of the polyallylamine compound is in the range of 15,000 to 30,000.

7. The liquid developer according to claim 3 , wherein a weight average molecular weight of the polyallylamine compound is in the range of 15,000 to 30,000.

8. A developer cartridge containing the liquid developer according to claim 1 .

9. A process cartridge containing the liquid developer according to claim 1 .

10. An image forming method comprising:

forming a latent image on a surface of an image holding member;

developing the latent image formed on the surface of the image holding member with the liquid developer according to claim 1 that is held at a surface of a developer holding member to form a toner image;

transferring the toner image formed on the surface of the image holding member to a recording medium; and

fixing the toner image transferred on the recording medium to the recording medium to form a fixed image.
