APPARATUS FOR THE GENERATION OF AN ENERGY FIELD FOR THE TREATMENT OF CANCER IN BODY CAVITIES AND PARTS THAT ARE CAVITY-LIKE
The Body Cavity Cancer Treatment Apparatus generates the magnetic field for use in a combined “Low Temperature Hyperthermia” and ionizing radiation and/or chemotherapy cancer treatment protocol. Unlike other competing systems, the Body Cavity Cancer Treatment Apparatus does not directly kill or ablate the cancer cells with killing temperatures rather, the Body Cavity Cancer Treatment Apparatus stresses the cancer and cancer stem cells by keeping them at a nominal 42° Celsius for some period of time via the heating of nano-particles that have been infused into the bladder, using the generated magnetic field.
1 . Apparatus for treating cancer which is sited in a cavity which is located in a living organism, comprising:
a table for positioning a living organism, which contains a cavity in which invasive agents are located;
at least one coil for generating an energy field which extends through the cavity of the living organism which is positioned on the table to activate target particles that are located in a fluid in the cavity of the living organism to generate thermal energy; and
energy field controller for applying a drive signal to the at least one coil to generate the energy field.
2 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 1 further comprising:
wherein the at least one coil comprises first and second coils positionable on opposite sides of the living organism for generating an energy field which extends between the first and second coils through the cavity of the living organism.
3 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 2 further comprising:
wherein the first and second coils are formed in a toroidial shape and the spacing between the first and second coils is same as the radius of each of the first and second coils
4 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 1 further comprising:
wherein the first and second coils comprise windings of Litz Wire.
5 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 1 further comprising:
at least a third coil oriented in a plane that is orthogonal to the plane of the first and second coils.
6 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 1 further comprising:
wherein the at least one coil comprises a coil having an aperture formed therein into which the living organism is positioned for generating an energy field which extends through the cavity of the living organism.
7 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 6 further comprising:
wherein the at least one coil comprises windings of Litz Wire.
8 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 1 wherein the energy field controller comprises:
an amplifier to produce a drive current which is fed to the at least one coil to create uniform magnetic field.
9 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 8 wherein the energy field controller further comprises:
frequency generator for modulating the drive current to generate magnetic field at a frequency below 75 KHz.
10 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 8 wherein the energy field controller further comprises:
temperature monitor for generating a control signal indicative of the present temperature in the cavity; and
control computer, responsive to the control signal indicative of the present temperature in the cavity, for dynamically regulating the drive current produced by the amplifier.
11 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 1 further comprising:
a control computer for automatically selecting energy field characteristics, from the characteristics of energy fields including at least one of: field type, frequency, field strength, duration, field modulation, repetition frequency, polarization, beam size, and focal point to energize the target particles to produce thermal energy in response to illumination by the energy field.
12 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 1 wherein the energy field controller comprises:
feedback processor for regulating the generated energy field to raise the temperature of the fluid in the cavity to a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time which facilitates the absorption of a chemotherapy drug in the fluid by the tissue which lines the walls of the cavity.
13 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 1 further comprising:
a control computer for regulating the generated energy field to raise the temperature of the fluid in the cavity pursuant to a predetermined temporal temperature profile which facilitates the absorption of a chemotherapy drug in the fluid by the tissue which lines the walls of the cavity.
14 . A method for treating cancer which is sited in a cavity which is located in a living organism that is placed on a table for positioning a living organism, comprising the steps of:
positioning at least one coil for generating an energy field which extends through the cavity of the living organism positioned on the table to activate target particles located in a fluid in the cavity of the living organism to generate thermal energy; and
applying a drive signal to the at least one coil to generate the energy field.
15 . The method for treating cancer of claim 14 further comprising:
wherein the at least one coil comprises first and second coils positionable on opposite sides of the living organism for generating an energy field which extends between the first and second coils through the cavity of the living organism.
16 . The method for treating cancer of claim 14 further comprising:
wherein the first and second coils comprise windings of Litz Wire.
17 . The method for treating cancer of claim 14 further comprising:
wherein the at least one coil comprises a coil having an aperture formed therein into which the living organism is positioned for generating an energy field which extends through the cavity of the living organism.
18 . The method for treating cancer of claim 17 further comprising:
wherein the at least one coil comprises windings of Litz Wire.
19 . The method for treating cancer of claim 14 wherein the step of applying comprises:
producing a drive current which is fed to the at least one coil to create uniform magnetic field.
20 . The method for treating cancer of claim 19 wherein the step of applying further comprises:
modulating the drive current to generate magnetic field at a frequency below 75 KHz.
21 . The method for treating cancer of claim 19 wherein the step of applying further comprises:
generating a control signal indicative of the present temperature in the cavity; and
dynamically regulating, in response to the control signal indicative of the present temperature in the cavity, the drive current.
22 . The method for treating cancer of claim 14 further comprising:
automatically selecting energy field characteristics, from the characteristics of energy fields including at least one of: field type, frequency, field strength, duration, field modulation, repetition frequency, polarization, beam size, and focal point to energize the target particles to produce thermal energy in response to illumination by the energy field.
23 . The method for treating cancer of claim 14 wherein the step of applying comprises:
regulating the generated energy field to raise the temperature of the fluid in the cavity to a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time which facilitates the absorption of a chemotherapy drug in the fluid by the tissue which lines the walls of the cavity.
24 . The method for treating cancer of claim 14 further comprising:
regulating the generated energy field to raise the temperature of the fluid in the cavity pursuant to a predetermined temporal temperature profile which facilitates the absorption of a chemotherapy drug in the fluid by the tissue which lines the walls of the cavity.
25 . Apparatus for treating cancer which is sited in a cavity which is located in a living organism, comprising:
a table for positioning a living organism, which contains a cavity in which invasive agents are located;
a bladder, insertable into the cavity which is located in the living organism;
a fluid, disposed in the bladder which is inserted into the cavity and containing target particles;
at least one coil in electromagnetic communication with the target particles, for generating an energy field which extends through the cavity of the living organism which is positioned on the table to activate the target particles to generate thermal energy;
energy field controller for applying a drive signal to the at least one coil to generate the energy field.
26 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 25 further comprising:
wherein the at least one coil comprises first and second coils positionable on opposite sides of the living organism for generating an energy field which extends between the first and second coils through the cavity of the living organism.
27 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 26 further comprising:
wherein the first and second coils comprise windings of Litz Wire.
28 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 25 further comprising:
wherein the at least one coil comprises a coil having an aperture formed therein into which the living organism is positioned for generating an energy field which extends through the cavity of the living organism.
29 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 28 further comprising:

30 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 25 wherein the energy field controller comprises:
an amplifier to produce a drive current which is fed to the at least one coil to create uniform magnetic field.
31 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 30 wherein the energy field controller further comprises:
frequency generator for modulating the drive current to generate magnetic field at a frequency below 75 KHz.
32 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 30 wherein the energy field controller further comprises:
temperature monitor for generating a control signal indicative of the present temperature in the cavity; and
control computer, responsive to the control signal indicative of the present temperature in the cavity, for dynamically regulating the drive current produced by the amplifier.
33 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 25 further comprising:
a control computer for automatically selecting energy field characteristics, from the characteristics of energy fields including at least one of: field type, frequency, field strength, duration, field modulation, repetition frequency, polarization, beam size, and focal point to energize the target particles to produce thermal energy in response to illumination by the energy field.
34 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 25 wherein the energy field controller comprises:
feedback processor for regulating the generated energy field to raise the temperature of the fluid in the cavity to a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time which facilitates the absorption of a chemotherapy drug in the fluid by the tissue which lines the walls of the cavity.
35 . The apparatus for treating cancer of claim 25 further comprising:
a control computer for regulating the generated energy field to raise the temperature of the fluid in the cavity pursuant to a predetermined temporal temperature profile which facilitates the absorption of a chemotherapy drug in the fluid by the tissue which lines the walls of the cavity.
36 . A method for treating cancer which is sited in a cavity which is located in a living organism, comprising:
positioning a living organism, that contains a cavity in which invasive agents are located, on a table;
inserting a bladder into the cavity which is located in the living organism;
disposing a fluid in the bladder which is inserted into the cavity and the fluid containing target particles;
generating in at least one coil that is in electromagnetic communication with the target particles, an energy field which extends through the cavity of the living organism which is positioned on the table to activate the target particles to generate thermal energy;
applying a drive signal to the at least one coil to generate the energy field.
37 . The method for treating cancer of claim 36 further comprising:
positioning, wherein the at least one coil comprises first and second coils, the first and second coils on opposite sides of the living organism for generating an energy field which extends between the first and second coils through the cavity of the living organism.
38 . The method for treating cancer of claim 37 further comprising:
wherein the first and second coils comprise windings of Litz Wire.
39 . The method for treating cancer of claim 36 further comprising:
wherein the at least one coil comprises a coil having an aperture formed therein into which the living organism is positioned for generating an energy field which extends through the cavity of the living organism.
40 . The method for treating cancer of claim 39 further comprising:
wherein the at least one coil comprises windings of Litz Wire.
41 . The method for treating cancer of claim 26 wherein the step of applying comprises:
producing a drive current which is fed to the at least one coil to create uniform magnetic field.
42 . The method for treating cancer of claim 40 wherein the step of applying further comprises:
modulating the drive current to generate magnetic field at a frequency below 75 KHz.
43 . The method for treating cancer of claim 41 wherein the step of applying further comprises:
generating a control signal indicative of the present temperature in the cavity; and
dynamically regulating, in response to the control signal indicative of the present temperature in the cavity, the drive current produced by the amplifier.
44 . The method for treating cancer of claim 36 further comprising:
automatically selecting energy field characteristics, from the characteristics of energy fields including at least one of: field type, frequency, field strength, duration, field modulation, repetition frequency, polarization, beam size, and focal point to energize the target particles to produce thermal energy in response to illumination by the energy field.
45 . The method for treating cancer of claim 36 wherein the step of applying comprises:
regulating the generated energy field to raise the temperature of the fluid in the cavity to a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time which facilitates the absorption of a chemotherapy drug in the fluid by the tissue which lines the walls of the cavity.
46 . The method for treating cancer of claim 36 further comprising:
regulating the generated energy field to raise the temperature of the fluid in the cavity pursuant to a predetermined temporal temperature profile which facilitates the absorption of a chemotherapy drug in the fluid by the tissue which lines the walls of the cavity.
