Abstract

A method and system and computer program product implementing same can be used to automatically manage a digital asset, from development to deployment, to control change within a network environment in a comprehensive and efficient manner. Digital assets can be tracked for progress and inaccuracies, mistakes, and incompatibilities can be addressed prior to deployment. Stages can be used to formalize and automate the flow of digital assets along the process. Further, metadata regarding the digital asset can be captured at any time to provide an audit trail for the digital asset from development all the way through deployment. The metadata can include not only the change records for the digital asset but may also include other information, such as results from staging and where the digital asset has been deployed. Any stage may have access to any or all metadata captured for the digital asset.

Claims (35)

1. A system for managing digital assets in a network environment, comprising:

at least one processor;

at least one non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions translatable by the at least one processor to perform:

after a digital asset is developed and tested in an enterprise computing environment, deploying the digital asset to at least a first stage and a second stage over network connections, the first stage having one or more computers configured to process the digital asset utilizing first stage business processes for a first level customer, the second stage having one or more computers configured to process the digital asset utilizing second stage business processes for a second level customer;

wherein, a first stage management hub performs at least a testing operation on the digital asset in a first stage computing environment and automatically routes the digital asset to at least one subsystem within the first stage;

wherein, a second stage management hub performs at least a testing operation on the digital asset in a second stage computing environment and automatically routes the digital asset to at least one subsystem within the second stage; and

wherein data captured at the first stage and the second stage are stored in a repository and accessible via a configuration console communicatively connected to the first stage management hub and the second stage management hub.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first stage is one of a plurality of stages for the first level customer.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first level customer is one of a plurality of first level customers, each having one or more stages.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first level customer is unrelated to the second level customer.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first level customer represents a preferred or premier customer.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first stage comprises a plurality of web applications for the first level customer.

7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the digital asset comprises an update to one of the plurality of web applications.

8. A computer program product comprising at least one non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions translatable by at least one processor to perform:

after a digital asset is developed and tested in an enterprise computing environment, deploying the digital asset to at least a first stage and a second stage over network connections, the first stage having one or more computers configured to process the digital asset utilizing first stage business processes for a first level customer, the second stage having one or more computers configured to process the digital asset utilizing second stage business processes for a second level customer;

wherein, a first stage management hub performs at least a testing operation on the digital asset in a first stage computing environment and automatically routes the digital asset to at least one subsystem within the first stage;

wherein, a second stage management hub performs at least a testing operation on the digital asset in a second stage computing environment and automatically routes the digital asset to at least one subsystem within the second stage; and

wherein data captured at the first stage and the second stage are stored in a repository and accessible via a configuration console communicatively connected to the first stage management hub and the second stage management hub.

9. The computer program product of claim 8 , wherein the first stage is one of a plurality of stages for the first level customer.

10. The computer program product of claim 8 , wherein the first level customer is one of a plurality of first level customers, each having one or more stages.

11. The computer program product of claim 8 , wherein the first level customer is unrelated to the second level customer.

12. The computer program product of claim 8 , wherein the first level customer represents a preferred or premier customer.

13. The computer program product of claim 8 , wherein the first stage comprises a plurality of web applications for the first level customer.

14. The computer program product of claim 13 , wherein the digital asset comprises an update to one of the plurality of web applications.

15. A method for managing digital assets in a network environment, comprising:

developing and testing a digital asset in an enterprise computing environment;

deploying the digital asset to at least a first stage and a second stage over network connections, the first stage having one or more computers configured to process the digital asset utilizing first stage business processes for a first level customer, the second stage having one or more computers configured to process the digital asset utilizing second stage business processes for a second level customer;

performing, by a first stage management hub, at least a testing operation on the digital asset in a first stage computing environment, the first stage management hub automatically routing the digital asset to at least one subsystem within the first stage;

performing, by a second stage management hub, at least a testing operation on the digital asset in a second stage computing environment, the second stage management hub automatically routing the digital asset to at least one subsystem within the second stage; and

storing data captured at the first stage and the second stage in a repository, wherein the data is accessible via a configuration console communicatively connected to the first stage management hub and the second stage management hub.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the first stage is one of a plurality of stages for the first level customer.

17. The method of claim 15 , wherein the first level customer is one of a plurality of first level customers, each having one or more stages.

18. The method of claim 15 , wherein the first level customer is unrelated to the second level customer.

19. The method of claim 15 , wherein the first level customer represents a preferred or premier customer.

20. The method of claim 15 , wherein the first stage comprises a plurality of web applications for the first level customer and wherein the digital asset comprises an update to one of the plurality of web applications.
