Control and supply unit
View Patent ↗A control and supply unit for an actuating device of a choke, a valve, a blow-out preventer or some other device applied in the field of oil and natural gas production. The control and supply unit includes an auxiliary power supply that is rechargeable and a connecting means to exchange data or supply a voltage. The unit is implemented separately from the actuating device and the connecting means is connected via a cable connection to a separate plug connection module arranged on the actuating device.
1. A control and supply unit for an actuating device of a choke, a valve, a blow-out preventer or a control device applied in the field of oil and natural gas production, the unit comprising:
an auxiliary power supply that is rechargeable; and
a connecting means to exchange data or supply a voltage;
wherein the control and supply unit is implemented separately from the actuating device; and
wherein the connecting means is connected via a cable connection to a separate plug connection module arranged on the actuating device.
2. The control and supply unit according to claim 1 , wherein the plug connection module comprises a connection housing and at least one plug connection device.
3. The control and supply unit according to claim 2 , wherein a coupling means for transmitting electric power or data is implemented between the connection housing and the actuating device.
4. The control and supply unit according to claim 2 , wherein the connection housing is releasably secured to an outer side of a housing of the actuating device.
5. The control and supply unit according to claim 1 , wherein the actuating device has power supplied thereto directly via the plug connection module.
6. The control and supply unit according to claim 1 , wherein the plug connection module is configured to be connected to an external control module.
7. The control and supply unit according to claim 1 , wherein the plug connection module is adapted to be connected to a remotely controllable vehicle.
8. The control and supply unit according to claim 1 further comprising a unit housing that comprises a communication interface, the auxiliary power supply, and a motor control unit.
9. The control and supply unit according to claim 8 , wherein the communication interface comprises a CAN field bus.
10. The control and supply unit according to claim 8 wherein the communication interface comprises a field bus and the terminals of the field bus and the voltage supply are implemented separately.
11. The control and supply unit according to claim 8 , wherein the communication interface and a voltage supply connection of the connecting means are formed on a supply and communication assembly.
12. The control and supply unit according to claim 11 , wherein the supply and communication assembly comprises connections for supplying electric power to the motor control unit, the auxiliary power supply, or a sensor unit of the actuating device.
13. The control and supply unit according to claim 11 , wherein the supply and communication assembly comprises bus connections for communication with or control of the auxiliary power supply, the motor control unit, or a sensor unit of the actuating device.
14. The control and supply unit according to claim 11 , wherein the supply and communication assembly comprises a ground terminal connected to the auxiliary power supply or the motor control unit.
15. The control and supply unit according to claim 1 , wherein the connecting means is configured to couple to a submarine control module for communication or voltage supply.
16. The control and supply unit according to claim 1 , further comprising a plug connection module with two plug connection devices associated with the actuating device to provide redundancy.
17. The control and supply unit according to claim 1 , wherein the plug connection module is configured for connection of a vehicle voltage supply line or a vehicle data line for supply with electric power by and for an exchange of data with the vehicle.
18. A control and supply unit for an actuating device of a choke, a valve, a blow-out preventer or a control device applied in the field of oil and natural gas production, the unit comprising:
an auxiliary power supply that is rechargeable;
a communication interface to exchange data; and
a voltage supply connection to supply a voltage;
wherein the control and supply unit is implemented separately from the actuating device; and
wherein the communication interface and voltage supply connection are connected via a cable connection to a separate plug connection module arranged on the actuating device.
