GALLERY PICKER SERVICE
Methods and devices for selectively presenting a user interface in a dual screen device. More particularly, the method includes providing a gallery for the dual screen device. The gallery can present one or more images in a user interface. The gallery user interface can adapt to changes in the device configuration. Further, the gallery can display images or videos in the various configurations.
1 . A method, comprising:
providing a device having at least first and second screens, wherein the device is in a landscape dual screen orientation;
receiving a first input to the device, wherein the first input executes a first application;
receiving a second input in the first application;
in response to the second input, executing a picker service; and
in the picker service, displaying the gallery across at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the gallery displays one or more thumbnails associated with one or more albums in a first section of the gallery;
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the gallery displays a grid of one or more thumbnails associated with one or more images in a second section of the gallery;
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the first section is displayed on the first screen.
5 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the first section is navigable.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the second section is displayed in at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen.
7 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising receiving a selection of an album in the first section.
8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising receiving a second selection of a second thumbnail in the first section displaying images associated with the album.
9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising, in response to the second selection of the album, displaying a second image associated with the second thumb nail in the second section.
10 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:
receiving a selection of a thumbnail associated with an image;
in response to the selection, providing the image to the application.
11 . A device, comprising:
a first screen, the first screen including a first gesture capture region;
a second screen, wherein the second screen faces an opposite direction from the first screen when the device is closed, and wherein an image capture lens is associated with the second screen;
a memory;
a processor in communication with the memory, the first screen, and the second screen, the processor operable to:
receive a first input to the device, wherein the first input executes a first application;
receive a second input in the first application;
in response to the second input, execute a picker service; and
in the picker service, display the gallery across at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen.
12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the gallery displays one or more thumbnails associated with one or more albums in a first section of the gallery, wherein the first section is displayed on the first screen, and wherein the first section is navigable.
13 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the gallery displays a grid of one or more thumbnails associated with one or more images in a second section of the gallery, and wherein the second section is displayed in at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen.
14 . The device of claim 11 , the processor further operable to:
receive a second selection of a second thumbnail in the first section; and
in response to the second selection of the album, display a second image associated with the second thumb nail in the second section.
15 . The device of claim 11 , the processor further operable to:
receive a selection of a thumbnail associated with an image; and
in response to the selection, providing the image to the application.
16 . A computer readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions, the computer executable instructions causing a processor of a device to execute a method for providing a user interface, the computer-executable instructions comprising:
instructions to receive a first input to the device, wherein the first input executes a first application;
instructions to receive a second input in the first application;
in response to the second input, instructions to execute a picker service; and
in the picker service, instructions to display the gallery across at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen.
17 . The computer readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the gallery displays one or more thumbnails associated with one or more albums in a first section of the gallery, wherein the first section is displayed on the first screen, and wherein the first section is navigable.
18 . The computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the gallery displays a grid of one or more thumbnails associated with one or more images in a second section of the gallery, and wherein the second section is displayed in at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen.
The computer readable medium of claim 17 , further comprising instructions to:
receive a second selection of a second thumbnail in the first section; and
in response to the second selection of the album, display a second image associated with the second thumb nail in the second section.
19 . The computer readable medium of claim 16 , further comprising instructions to:
receive a selection of a thumbnail associated with an image; and
in response to the selection, providing the image to the application.
