DUAL SCREEN PROPERTY DETAIL DISPLAY
A device includes two touch sensitive displays. Particular display device (e.g., balloons, pop-up windows, tooltips, etc.) can be displayed in the two touch sensitive displays. However, in some circumstances, presenting the display device may cause problems interfacing with or viewing data on the device. Thus, the device can determine if presenting the display device in a proposed location will cause difficulties for the user. If such difficulties are predicted, the device may move the display of the display device to the other touch sensitive display.
1 . A method, comprising:
providing a device having at least first and second screens;
receiving a user interface input on a first screen associated with a first application;
determining that a display device is associated with the user interface input;
determining if the display device can be displayed on the first screen; and
if the display device cannot be displayed on the first screen, displaying the display device on the second screen.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining if the display device can be displayed on the first screen comprises determining if the display device exceeds a size threshold.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the size threshold is predetermined and based on the display device.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining if the display device can be displayed on the first screen comprises determining if the display device will obscure one or more interactive elements.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining if the display device can be displayed on the first screen comprises determining if the display device will obscure one or more items of displayed data.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the display device is displayed in a predetermined location on the second screen.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the predetermined location is related to a location on the first screen.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the device is oriented in a dual screen orientation.
9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising
receiving a second user interface input that is associated with the display device on the second screen; and
determining that the second user interface input is associated with the first application.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the display device is one of a tooltip, a mouseover, a balloon, a help instruction, or a pop-up window.
11 . A device, comprising:
a first screen, the first screen including a first gesture capture region;
a second screen, wherein the second screen faces an opposite direction from the first screen when the device is closed, and wherein an image capture lens is associated with the second screen;
a memory;
a processor in communication with the memory, the first screen, and the second screen, the processor operable to:
receive a user interface input on a first screen associated with a first application;
determine that a display device is associated with the user interface input;
determine if the display device can be displayed on the first screen; and
if the display device cannot be displayed on the first screen, display the display device on the second screen.
12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein determining if the display device can be displayed on the first screen comprises determining if the display device exceeds a size threshold, wherein the size threshold is predetermined and based on the display device.
13 . The device of claim 11 , wherein determining if the display device can be displayed on the first screen comprises determining if the display device will obscure one or more interactive elements.
14 . The device of claim 13 , wherein determining if the display device can be displayed on the first screen comprises determining if the display device will obscure one or more items of displayed data.
15 . The device of claim 14 , wherein the display device is displayed in a predetermined location on the second screen, wherein the predetermined location is related to a location on the first screen, and wherein the device is oriented in a dual screen orientation.
16 . A computer readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions, the computer executable instructions causing a processor of a device to execute a method for providing a user interface, the computer-executable instructions comprising:
instructions to receive a user interface input on a first screen associated with a first application;
instructions to determine that a display device is associated with the user interface input;
instructions to determine if the display device can be displayed on the first screen; and
if the display device cannot be displayed on the first screen, instructions to display the display device on the second screen.
17 . The computer readable medium of claim 16 , further comprising instructions to:
receive a second user interface input that is associated with the display device on the second screen; and
determine that the second user interface input is associated with the first application.
18 . The computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein determining if the display device can be displayed on the first screen comprises one of:
determining if the display device exceeds a size threshold, wherein the size threshold is predetermined and based on the display device;
determining if the display device will obscure one or more interactive elements; or
determining if the display device will obscure one or more items of displayed data.
19 . The computer readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the display device is displayed in a predetermined location on the second screen, wherein the predetermined location is related to a location on the first screen, and wherein the device is oriented in a dual screen orientation.
20 . The computer readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the display device is one of a tooltip, a mouseover, a balloon, a help instruction, or a pop-up window.
