Abstract

The invention relates to a method for deactivating a semi-persistent resource allocation of a user equipment in an LTE-based mobile communication system. Furthermore, the invention also related to a user equipment and an eNode B implementing this method. To provide a mechanism for deactivating a semi-persistent resource allocation in a LTE system which is not requiring any changes to the Physical layer-to-MAC layer interface and/or preferably no changes to the PDCCH formats agreed by the 3GPP a combination of NDI value and MCS index is defined that is commanding the release of SPS resources. Alternatively, another solution proposed to define a special transport block size that when signaled in a PDCCH is commanding the release of SPS resources.

Claims (32)

1. A method for releasing a semi-persistent resource allocation in a mobile communication system, wherein a user equipment performs the steps of:

receiving, via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from an eNode B, control signalling that includes a New Data Indicator and a Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) field;

releasing the semi-persistent resource allocation if a defined combination of conditions is met, wherein the defined combination of conditions includes the New Data Indicator being a defined New Data Indicator value and the Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) being a defined modulation and coding scheme index; and

transmitting an Acknowledgement (ACK) message to the eNode B, which shows acknowledgement of the control signalling that indicates release of the semi-persistent resource allocation.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein in case that the control signalling conveys control information for scheduling of Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH), the defined combination of conditions further includes a transmit power control (TPC) field being a defined TPC value.

3. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the defined TPC value is ‘00’.

4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein in case that the control signalling conveys control information for scheduling of Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH), the defined combination of conditions further includes a Cyclic shift demodulation reference signal (DM RS) field being a defined Cyclic shift DM RS value.

5. The method according to claim 4 , wherein the defined Cyclic shift DM RS value is ‘000’.

6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein in case that the control signalling conveys control information for scheduling of Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH), the defined combination of conditions further includes a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process number field being a defined HARQ process number value.

7. The method according to claim 6 , wherein the defined HARQ process number value is ‘000’.

8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein in case that the control signalling conveys control information for scheduling of Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH), the defined combination of conditions further includes a Redundancy Version (RV) field being a defined RV value.

9. The method according to claim 8 , wherein the defined RV value is ‘00’.

10. The method according to claim 1 , wherein in case that the control signalling conveys control information for scheduling of Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH), the defined combination of conditions further includes a Resource block assignment field being a defined Resource block assignment value.

11. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the defined combination of conditions includes the New Data Indicator value being 0 and the MCS being the defined modulation and coding scheme index indicating no transport block size information.

12. A user equipment in a mobile communication system comprising:

a receiver that receives, via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from an eNode B, control signalling that includes a New Data Indicator and a Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) field;

a processor that releases the semi-persistent resource allocation if a defined combination of conditions is met, wherein the defined combination of conditions includes the New Data Indicator being a defined New Data Indicator value and the Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) being a defined modulation and coding scheme index; and

a transmitter that transmits an Acknowledgement (ACK) message to the eNode B, which shows acknowledgement of the control signalling that indicates release of the semi-persistent resource allocation.

13. The user equipment according to claim 12 , wherein in case that the control signalling conveys control information for scheduling of Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH), the defined combination of conditions further includes a transmit power control (TPC) field being a defined TPC value.

14. The user equipment according to claim 13 , wherein the defined TPC value is ‘00’.

15. The user equipment according to claim 12 , wherein in case that the control signalling conveys control information for scheduling of Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH), the defined combination of conditions further includes a Cyclic shift demodulation reference signal (DM RS) field being a defined Cyclic shift DM RS value.

16. The user equipment according to claim 15 , wherein the defined Cyclic shift DM RS value is ‘000’.

17. The user equipment according to claim 12 , wherein in case that the control signalling conveys control information for scheduling of Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH), the defined combination of conditions further includes a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process number field being a defined HARQ process number value.

18. The user equipment according to claim 17 , wherein the defined HARQ process number value is ‘000’.

19. The user equipment according to claim 12 , wherein in case that the control signalling conveys control information for scheduling of Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH), the defined combination of conditions further includes a Redundancy Version (RV) field being a defined RV value.

20. The user equipment according to claim 19 , wherein the defined RV value is ‘00’.

21. The user equipment according to claim 12 , wherein in case that the control signalling conveys control information for scheduling of Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH), the defined combination of conditions further includes a Resource block assignment field being a defined Resource block assignment value.

22. The user equipment according to claim 12 , wherein the defined combination of conditions includes the New Data Indicator value being 0 and the MCS being the defined modulation and coding scheme index indicating no transport block size information.

23. The user equipment according to claim 22 , wherein the defined modulation and coding scheme index is ‘11111’.

24. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the defined modulation and coding scheme index is ‘11111’.

25. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the user equipment uses an uplink resource to transmit the ACK message, the uplink resource being implicitly assigned for a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARD) ACK/NACK by the PDCCH indicating the release of semi-persistent resource allocation.
