Abstract

A medical device comprises a control handle and a surgical end effector connected to the control handle through a passive articulating connection. A medical device end effector connection assembly comprises a passive articulation joint for connecting an end effector to a control handle. In a medical device having an end effector connected to a control handle, an end effector connection assembly comprises a passive articulation joint connecting the end effector to the control handle. A medical device comprises a control handle and a surgical end effector passively articulated with respect to the control handle. A medical device comprises a control handle having a first portion of a passive articulation joint and a surgical end effector having a second portion of the passive articulation joint, the first and second portions of the passive articulation joint connecting the end effector to the control handle.

Claims (20)

1. A medical device end effector connection assembly, comprising:

a passive articulation joint connecting an end effector to an instrument shaft that is disposed between the end effector and a control handle.

2. In a medical device having an end effector and a control handle, an end effector connection assembly comprising:

a passive articulation joint connecting the end effector to an instrument shaft that is disposed between the end effector and the control handle.

3. A medical device, comprising:

a control handle; and

a surgical end effector connected to an instrument shaft through a passive articulating connection, the instrument shaft being disposed between the end effector and the control handle.

4. A medical device, comprising:

a control handle; and

a surgical end effector passively articulated with respect to an instrument shaft disposed between the end effector and the control handle.

5. A medical device, comprising:

an instrument shaft having a first portion of a passive articulation joint; and

a surgical end effector having a second portion of the passive articulation joint, the first and second portions of the passive articulation joint connecting the end effector to the instrument shaft, the instrument shaft being disposed between the end effector and a control handle.

6. A medical device, comprising:

a control handle; and

a surgical end effector having a passive articulation joint connecting the end effector to an instrument shaft disposed between the end effector and the control handle.

7. A medical device, comprising:

a control handle;

a surgical end effector; and

a passive articulating joint connecting the end effector to an instrument shaft disposed between the end effector and the control handle.
