Abstract

A system, method, and computer program product uses an application that allows people who have websites including a webform for making inquiries to manage communications between prospective customers and one or more sales agents. When a webform is submitted, it is routed to a special address (e.g., as an email address, an SMS address, or a social media address such as a Facebook address, a LinkedIn address, a Twitter address or the like) and one or more sales agents are called and prompted to call the prospective customer at a callback number.

Claims (27)

1. A method for managing communications between a prospective customer and a sales agent via a plurality of communication networks including a first and second communication network, the method comprising:

a server prompting, via the first communication network, the prospective customer to provide a callback number accessible via the second communication network, wherein the provided callback number is provided to the server via the first communication network at an address specified to the prospective customer by the server; and

in response to receipt of the provided callback number via the first communication network at the specified address, providing a sales agent associated with the specified address with information about the prospective customer via the first communication network and calling the sales agent associated with the specified address to initiate a call between the sales agent and the prospective customer at the provided callback number using the second communication network

wherein the information about the prospective customer includes an indication of a referral source for the prospective customer.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the address is associated with a plurality of sales agents, one or more of which are called to initiate a call to the prospective customer at the callback number.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the prospective customer is prompted to provide the callback number via a webform provided by the server, wherein the webform comprises one or more fields selectable by the prospective customer to indicate an advertising medium from which the prospective customer's inquiry originated.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the one or more fields identify advertising media comprising one or more billboards, one or more magazines, one or more newspapers, and one or more websites.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the address comprises an email address.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the address comprises an SMS address.

7. A system for managing communications between a prospective customer and one or more sales agents via a plurality of communication networks including a first and second communication network, the system comprising:

an application running on a server coupled to the first communication network and associated with an advertising medium in the first communication network, the first communication network being accessible by one or more prospective customers, whom each have a computer and a phone, the application being configured to prompt a prospective customer to provide a callback number accessible via the second communication network, wherein the provided callback number is provided to the application via the first communication network at an address specified to the prospective customer by the application over the first communication network;

a logging engine;

a logic engine; and

a database coupled to the application and the first communication network so as to receive, store, and send data collected by the application,

wherein in response to receipt of the provided callback number via the first communication network, the logging engine collects data associated with the provided callback number, and the application provides a sales agent associated with the specified address with information about the prospective customer via the first communication network and calls the sales agent associated with the specified address to initiate a call between the sales agent and the prospective customer at the provided callback number using the second communication network, and

wherein the information about the prospective customer includes an indication of a referral source for the prospective customer.

8. A method for managing communications between a prospective customer and a sales agent via a plurality of communication networks including a data network and a voice network, the method comprising:

a server, being coupled to the data network, prompting the prospective customer, via the data network, to provide a contact number accessible via the voice network, wherein the contact number is provided to the server via the data network at an email address specified to the prospective customer by the server;

in response to receipt of the provided contact number via the data network at the specified address, providing a sales agent associated with the specified address with information about the prospective customer via an email message via the data network and calling the sales agent associated with the specified address via the voice network to initiate a call between the sales agent and the prospective customer at the provided contact number using the voice network.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the address is associated with a plurality of sales agents, one or more of which are prompted to call the prospective customer at the contact number.

10. The method of claim 8 , wherein the prospective customer is prompted to provide the contact number via a webform provided by the server, wherein the webform comprises one or more fields selectable by the prospective customer to indicate an advertising medium from which the prospective customer's inquiry originated.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the one or more fields identify advertising media comprising one or more billboards, one or more magazines, one or more newspapers, and one or more websites.

12. A system for managing communications between a prospective customer and one or more sales agents via a plurality of communication networks including a data network and a voice network, the system comprising:

an application running on a server coupled to the data network and associated with an advertising medium, the first communication network being accessible by one or more prospective customers, the application being configured to prompt a prospective customer to provide a contact number accessible via the voice network, wherein the provided contact number is provided to the application via the first communication network at an email address specified to the prospective customer by the application over the first communication network; and

a database coupled to the application and the first communication network so as to receive, store, and send data collected by the application about the prospective customer,

wherein in response to receipt of the provided contact number via the first communication network, data is collected and associated with the provided contact number, and the application provides a sales agent associated with the specified email address with information about the prospective customer via the data network and calls the sales agent associated with the specified email address to initiate a call between the sales agent and the prospective customer at the provided contact number using the voice network, and

wherein the information about the prospective customer includes an indication of a referral source for the prospective customer.
