Abstract

A portable terminal includes a receiver, a barcode former configured to form barcodes and a display. The barcode former forms a barcode from the data received by the receiver and the display displays the formed barcode.

Claims (22)

1. A portable terminal, comprising:

a receiver configured to receive data;

a barcode former configured to form barcode data from the received data, the barcode data including a plurality of display barcodes, information representing the display order of the plurality of display barcodes, information representing a total number of the plurality of display barcodes and information representing an end of the display of the plurality of display barcodes, each of the display barcodes is displayed with predetermined non-display periods between display periods of the display barcodes;

a display configured to display, in order, the display barcodes included in the barcode data; and

a detector configured to detect light or a signal from a barcode reader,

wherein the display is switched, from the currently displayed display barcode to the display barcode next in the display order, according to the detection result of the detector.

2. The portable terminal according to claim 1 , wherein the light or the signal includes information from which the detector can determine that the barcode reader has completed reading of the displayed barcode.

3. An electronic commerce system operable to:

provide ticket information and a start time to the portable terminal during the reservation process, the ticket information permitting a user of the portable terminal to enter a facility associated with the ticket information;

control the portable terminal to notify the user of the portable terminal a predetermined time before the start time by using the start time without using a location of the facility;

acquire ticket information and a reservation time by scanning a barcode which is displayed on a display of a portable terminal, the ticket information permitting a user of the portable terminal to enter a facility associated with the ticket information;

judge whether or not a certain time is outside a predetermined range of the reservation time, the certain time being a time at which the barcode is scanned;

when the certain time is within the predetermined range of the reservation time,

permitting the user of the portable terminal to enter the facility associated with the ticket information and changing a status which manages use of the ticket information from permission to prohibition;

when the certain time is outside the predetermined range of the reservation time, changing the status of use of the ticket information, by setting a flag indicating prohibition of use for the ticket information to “ON”, and not permitting the user of the portable terminal to enter the facility associated with the ticket information.

4. An electronic commerce system operable to:

provide ticket information and a start time to the portable terminal during the reservation process, the ticket information permitting a user of the portable terminal to enter a facility associated with the ticket information;

control the portable terminal to notify the user of the portable terminal a predetermined time before the start time by using the start time without using a location of the facility;

acquire ticket information and a reservation time by scanning a barcode which is displayed on a display of a portable terminal, the ticket information permitting a user of the portable terminal to enter a facility associated with the ticket information;

judge whether or not the reservation time has elapsed;

when the reservation time has not elapsed, permitting the user of the portable terminal to enter the facility associated with the ticket information and changing a status which manages use of the ticket information from permission to prohibition; and

when the reservation time has elapsed, change the status of use of the ticket information, by setting a flag indicating prohibition of use for the ticket information to “ON”, and not permitting the user of the portable terminal to enter the facility associated with the ticket information.
