Abstract

A video processing device includes a plurality of circuit modules that cooperate to process an input video signal into a processed video signal. A control circuit generates a plurality of adjustment parameters in response to a calibration of the plurality of circuit modules and that includes a register adjustment generator that generates a register file modification based on the plurality of adjustment parameters.

Claims (23)

1. A video processing device comprising:

a plurality of circuit modules that cooperate to process an input video signal into a processed video signal; and

a control circuit, coupled to the plurality of circuit modules, that generates a plurality of adjustment parameters in response to a calibration of the plurality of circuit modules and that includes a register adjustment generator that generates a register file modification based on the plurality of adjustment parameters.

2. The video processing device of claim 1 wherein a register program sets a plurality of registers based on the register file modifications.

3. The video processing device of claim 2 wherein the adjustment parameters include a power adjustment and wherein a power management unit sets at least one power supply voltage based on contents of at least one of the plurality of registers.

4. The video processing device of claim 2 wherein the adjustment parameters include a clock adjustment and wherein a clock generator sets at least clock frequency based on contents of at least one of the plurality of registers.

5. The video processing device of claim 2 wherein the adjustment parameters include a delay adjustment and wherein an adjustable delay circuit sets a delay based on contents of at least one of the plurality of registers.

6. The video processing device of claim 2 wherein the register program operates in conjunction with Verilog program code.

7. The video processing device of claim 1 wherein the plurality of circuit modules cooperate to process the input video signal by at least one of: a decoding of the input video signal, a encoding of the processed video signal, and a transcoding of the processed video signal.

8. A method for use in a video processing device comprising:

cooperatively processing an input video signal into a processed video signal via a plurality of circuit modules;

generating a plurality of adjustment parameters in response to a calibration of the plurality of circuit modules; and

generating a register file modification based on the plurality of adjustment parameters.

9. The method of claim 8 further comprising

setting a plurality of registers based on the register file modifications via a register program.

10. The method of claim 9 wherein the adjustment parameters include a power adjustment and wherein the method further comprises:

setting at least one power supply voltage based on contents of at least one of the plurality of registers.

11. The method of claim 9 wherein the adjustment parameters include a clock adjustment and wherein the method further comprises:

setting at least clock frequency based on contents of at least one of the plurality of registers.

12. The method of claim 9 wherein the adjustment parameters include a delay adjustment and wherein the method further comprises:

setting a time delay based on contents of at least one of the plurality of registers.

13. The method of claim 9 wherein the register program operates in conjunction with Verilog program code.

14. The method of claim 9 wherein the plurality of circuit modules cooperate to process the input video signal by at least one of: a decoding of the input video signal, a encoding of the processed video signal, and a transcoding of the processed video signal.
