Abstract

A computer-implemented system and method for adaptive product bundling and pricing determines a bundle of products, or a configuration of one or more products, and a price for the bundle or configuration, based on behavioral information associated with one or more users of one or more computer-implemented systems. The product bundle or configuration prices may be further determined in accordance with inferences of price sensitivities, pricing experimentations, expectations of future transactions, inventory levels, costs, and collective price formation processes.

Claims (49)

1 . An adaptive commerce system comprising one or more processor-based devices configured to:

access a first plurality of usage behaviors associated with one or more users of one or more computer-implemented systems;

access a second plurality of usage behaviors associated with the one or more users of the one or more computer-implemented systems;

determine a product bundle comprising a plurality of products that are selected based, at least in part, on the first plurality of usage behaviors;

determine a price for the product bundle, wherein the price is determined based, at least in part, on the second plurality of usage behaviors; and

deliver a description of the product bundle and the price to a first user of the one or more users.

2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

access the second plurality of usage behaviors, wherein at least one of the second plurality of usage behaviors is attained in accordance with an experimental pricing design.

3 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the product bundle comprising the plurality of products, wherein the product bundle comprises a product configuration.

4 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the price, wherein the price is determined in accordance with a an inferred price sensitivity that is based, at least in part, on the second plurality of usage behaviors.

4 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the price, wherein the price is determined in accordance with a collective price formation process.

5 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the price, wherein the price is determined in accordance with an inventory level associated with at least one of the plurality of products.

6 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the price, wherein the price is determined in accordance with a production cost associated with at least one of the plurality of products.

7 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the price, wherein the price is determined in accordance with an expected number of future sales transactions with the first user.

8 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the price, wherein the price is determined in accordance with customer contextual information.

9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the customer contextual information comprises a site layout.

10 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:

accessing a first plurality of usage behaviors that are associated with one or more users of one or more computer-implemented systems;

accessing a second plurality of usage behaviors that are associated with the one or more users of the one or more computer-implemented systems;

determining a product bundle through execution of a product bundling function on a processor-based device, wherein the product bundle comprises a plurality of products that are selected based, at least in part, on the first plurality of usage behaviors;

determining a price for the product bundle through execution of a pricing function on a processor-based device, wherein the price is determined based, at least in part, on the second plurality of usage behaviors; and

delivering a description of the product bundle and the price to a first user of the one or more users.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the first plurality of usage behaviors comprises a physical location.

12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the price is determined in accordance with an inventory level associated with at least one of the plurality of products.

13 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the price is determined in accordance with an inferred price sensitivity, wherein the inferred price sensitivity is based on the second plurality of usage behaviors.

14 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the price is determined in accordance with customer contextual information.

15 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

delivering an explanation to the first user as to why the description of the product bundle was delivered to the first user, wherein the explanation comprises logic for determining the product bundle.

16 . An adaptive product configuration system comprising one or more processor-based devices configured to:

access a first plurality of usage behaviors associated with one or more users of one or more computer-implemented systems;

access a second plurality of usage behaviors associated with the one or more users of the one or more computer-implemented systems;

recommend a product configuration comprising a plurality of product features, wherein the product configuration is based, at least in part, on the first plurality of usage behaviors;

determine a price for the product configuration, wherein the price is determined based, at least in part, on the second plurality of usage behaviors; and

deliver a description of the product configuration and the price to a first user of the one or more users.

17 . The system of claim 16 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the price, wherein the price is determined in accordance with an inventory level associated with at least one of the plurality of product features.

18 . The system of claim 16 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the price, wherein the price is determined in accordance with a cost associated with at least one of the plurality of product features.

19 . The system of claim 16 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the price, wherein the price is determined in accordance with a product feature attribute.

20 . The system of claim 16 , further comprising the one or more processor-based devices configured to:

determine the price, wherein the price is determined in accordance with an inferred price sensitivity, wherein the inferred price sensitivity is based on the second plurality of usage behaviors.
