Abstract

An electric booster in which a rotation of an electric motor is converted into linear motion and transmitted to an output member by a rotation-linear motion mechanism. The output member pushes a piston of a master cylinder to generate brake fluid pressure in a pressure chamber in the master cylinder. An ECU casing containing boards is coupled to the top of a motor casing constituting the electric motor. The ECU casing is offset in one direction in a plane perpendicular to a plane containing an axis of the master cylinder. A male connector is provided at a side surface of the ECU casing on the opposite side from the offset direction side, and a space between the male connector and an interference area of the ECU casing is utilized as a space for attachment/detachment of the male connector.

Claims (20)

1. An electric booster, comprising:

a master cylinder;

a piston disposed in the master cylinder and configured to generate a fluid pressure in a pressure chamber of the master cylinder by being thrust;

a transmission mechanism configured to transmit a driving force of an electric motor to the piston;

a board containing casing which contains a board configured to supply driving power to the electric motor; and

a motor casing which contains the electric motor and the transmission mechanism,

wherein the board containing casing is disposed on the motor casing along a movement direction of the piston,

wherein a connector configured to at least supply power to the board is disposed at the board containing casing, and

wherein the connector is provided on a surface of the board containing casing where the board containing casing is disposed on the motor casing so that attachment is realized by moving a corresponding connector toward the surface, and detachment is realized by moving the corresponding connector away from the surface.

2. The electric booster according to claim 1 , wherein the electric motor is disposed within the motor casing to be coaxial with the transmission mechanism.

3. An electric booster configured to transmit a driving force of an electric motor to an output member by a transmission mechanism, and generate a brake fluid pressure in a pressure chamber in a master cylinder by a thrust force of the output member, the electric booster comprising:

a motor casing which contains the transmission mechanism; and

a board containing casing which contains a board configured to control the electric motor,

wherein the board containing casing is disposed on the motor casing with one side of the board containing casing in a planar direction of the board protruding beyond the motor casing, and

wherein a connector configured to at least supply power to the board is provided at the protruding one side of the board containing casing so as to be located on a surface facing the motor casing in such a manner that the connector is inserted and pulled out in a direction perpendicular to the planar direction.

4. The electric booster according to claim 3 , wherein the electric motor is disposed within the motor casing to be coaxial with the transmission mechanism.

5. An electric booster configured to drive an electric motor according to a driving instruction, convert a rotation of the electric motor into a linear motion by a rotation-linear motion conversion mechanism to transmit the linear motion to an output member, and thrust a piston of a master cylinder by the output member to generate a brake fluid pressure in a pressure chamber in the master cylinder,

wherein the electric motor is disposed so as to be horizontally offset from a central line L in a vertical direction of the master cylinder,

wherein a board containing casing is disposed so as to be offset in an opposite direction from the direction in which the motor is offset, the board containing casing which contains a power board configured to supply power to the electric motor and a control board configured to control the electric motor.

6. The electric motor according to claim 5 , wherein a connector is provided at the board containing casing, and the board containing casing is disposed in such a manner that the electric motor and a space including an attaching and/or detaching space of the connector are substantially symmetrical about the central line L of the master cylinder.
