Abstract

A method includes receiving a communication from a party at a voice response system and capturing verbal communication spoken by the party. Then a processor creates a voice model associated with the party, the voice model being created by processing the captured verbal communication spoken by the party. The creation of the voice model is imperceptible to the party. The voice model is then stored to provide voice verification of the party during a subsequent communication.

Claims (43)

1. A method comprising:

receiving a communication from a party at a voice response system;

capturing verbal communication spoken by the party;

creating, with a processor, a voice model associated with the party, the voice model being created by processing the captured verbal communication spoken by the party; and

storing the created voice model to provide voice verification of the party during a subsequent communication,

wherein the creating of the voice model is imperceptible to the party.

2. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a communication from a requester;

prompting the requester for information;

capturing speech of the requester;

processing the captured speech of the requester; and

comparing the processed speech of the requester with the stored voice model.

3. The method according to claim 2 , further comprising determining whether the processed speech of the requester matches the stored voice model.

4. The method according to claim 3 , further comprising granting the requester access to account information when the processed speech of the requester matches the stored voice model.

5. The method according to claim 3 , further comprising denying the requester access to account information when the processed speech of the requester fails to match the stored voice model.

6. The method according to claim 3 , further comprising screening the requester when the processed speech of the requester fails to match the stored voice model.

7. The method according to claim 3 , further comprising updating the voice model of the party when it is determined that the processed speech of the requester matches the stored voice model.

8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the capturing the verbal communication comprises isolating spoken word of the party.

9. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the requester is prompted for the information when the requester requests access to sensitive data.

10. The method according to claim 2 , further comprising replacing the stored voice model of the party with the processed speech of the requester.

11. A system comprising:

a memory that stores executable instructions;

a processor that executes the executable instructions;

wherein the system receives a communication from a party, captures verbal communication spoken by the party during interaction between the party and an agent, creates a voice model associated with the party from the captured verbal communication, and stores the created voice model to provide voice verification of the party during a subsequent communication, wherein the creation of the voice model is imperceptible to the party.

12. A tangible computer-readable storage medium encoded with an executable computer program for registering a voice of a party in order to provide voice verification for a communication and that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to perform operations comprising:

receiving a communication from a party at a voice response system;

capturing verbal communication spoken by the party;

creating a voice model associated with the party, the voice model being created by processing the captured verbal communication spoken by the party; and

storing the created voice model to provide voice verification of the party during a subsequent communication,

wherein the creating of the voice model is imperceptible to the party.

13. The tangible computer-readable storage medium according to claim 12 , further comprising:

receiving a communication from a requester;

prompting the requester for information;

capturing speech of the requester;

processing the captured speech of the requester; and

comparing the processed speech of the requester with the stored voice model.

14. The tangible computer-readable storage medium according to claim 13 , further comprising determining whether the processed speech of the requester matches the stored voice model.

15. The tangible computer-readable storage medium according to claim 14 , further comprising granting the requester access to account information when the processed speech of the requester matches the stored voice model.

16. The tangible computer-readable storage medium according to claim 14 , further comprising denying the requester access to account information when the processed speech of the requester fails to match the stored voice model.

17. The tangible computer-readable storage medium according to claim 14 , further comprising screening the requester when the processed speech of the requester fails to match the stored voice model.

18. The tangible computer-readable storage medium according to claim 14 , further comprising updating the voice model of the party when it is determined that the processed speech of the requester matches the stored voice model.

19. The tangible computer-readable storage medium according to claim 12 , wherein the capturing the verbal communication comprises isolating spoken word of the party.

20. The tangible computer-readable storage medium according to claim 13 , wherein the requester is prompted for the information when the requester requests access to sensitive data.
