Abstract

Methods, systems, and products notify of alarms in security systems. An alarm message is received from a security system associated with a network address. The network address is associated to a notification address. A Voice-over Internet Protocol call to the notification address is initiated over a data network to alert of an alarm from a security system.

Claims (34)

1. A method, comprising:

receiving, by a server, an alarm message associated with an alarm code determined by a security system, the security system associated with an Internet protocol address;

querying, by the server, an electronic database for the Internet protocol address associated with the security system, the electronic database having electronic database associations between different Internet protocol addresses associated with different security systems and different remote notification network addresses for remote notification of customers associated with the different security systems;

retrieving, by the server, a remote notification network address from the electronic database having an electronic database association with the Internet protocol address associated with the security system; and

sending, from the server, an electronic notification to the remote notification network address having the electronic database association with the Internet protocol address, the electronic notification providing the remote notification of the alarm code determined by the security system.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising assigning an agent to the alarm message.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining an alarm code from the alarm message.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising obtaining a physical street address from the alarm message.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein retrieving the remote notification network address further comprises retrieving a communications address associated with the Internet protocol address.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising playing prerecorded script to alert of the alarm code determined by the security system.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising extracting the Internet protocol address from the alarm message.

8. A system, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory storing code that when executed causes the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

receiving an alarm code sent from a security system;

querying an electronic database for the alarm code, the electronic database having electronic database associations between different alarm codes and different remote notification addresses for remote notification of alarms determined by the security system;

retrieving a remote notification network address from the electronic database having an electronic database association with the alarm code sent from the security system; and

sending an electronic notification to the remote notification network address having the electronic database association with the alarm code, the electronic notification providing the remote notification to a customer associated with the security system.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise assigning an agent to the alarm code.

10. The system of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving sensor information describing a sensor associated with the alarm code.

11. The system of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving a physical street address associated with a network address associated with the security system.

12. The system of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving a network address associated with the alarm code.

13. The system of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise playing prerecorded script to alert the customer of the alarm code sent from the security system.

14. The system of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise receiving an alarm message sent from the security system.

15. A memory device storing instructions that when executed cause a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

receiving an alarm code sent from a security system;

querying an electronic database for the alarm code, the electronic database having electronic database associations between different alarm codes and different remote notification network addresses for remote notification of alarms determined by the security system;

retrieving a remote notification network address from the electronic database having an electronic database association with the alarm code; and

sending an electronic notification to the remote notification network address having the electronic database association with the alarm code, the electronic notification providing the remote notification to a customer associated with the security system.

16. The memory device of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise assigning an agent to the alarm code.

17. The memory device of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving sensor information describing a sensor associated with the alarm code.

18. The memory device of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise obtaining a physical street address associated with a network address associated with the security system.

19. The memory device of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving a network address associated with the alarm code.

20. The memory device of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise playing prerecorded script to alert of the alarm code sent from the security system.
