Abstract

Examples disclosed herein relate to systems and methods, which may receive wagers on one or more paylines. The disclosure relates to an electronic gaming system which allows a player to make one or more inputs via human gesturing, and associated methods.

Claims (43)

1. An electronic gaming system comprising:

at least one display device;

one or more depth image sensing devices configured to obtain one or more scene data;

at least one memory device; and

one or more processors configured to generate one or more scene images based on the one or more scene data, the one or more processors configured to receive a plurality of instructions from the at least one memory device, which when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to operate with the at least one display device and the one or more depth image sensing devices, for a play of a game, to:

(a) determine a wager placed by a player of the electronic gaming system;

(b) cause the at least one display device to display a first screen;

(c) detect a body part of the player;

(d) identify the detected body part;

(e) detect a 3D movement of the detected body part;

(f) correlate the detected 3D movement and the identified body part to one of a plurality of reference models;

(g) determine a player input based on the correlated reference model;

(h) determine a second screen to display based at least in part on the determined player input;

(i) cause the at least one display device to display the second screen;

(j) determine an outcome for the play of the game; and

(k) cause the gaming system to provide any awards based at least in part on the determined outcome in the play of the game; and

wherein the determined outcome is based at least in part on the determined player input and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to obtain one or more additional scene data from one or more external electronic gaming devices.

2. The electronic gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more depth image sensing devices includes at least one IR light source and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to detect one or more elements within the one or more scene images.

3. The electronic gaming system of claim 2 , wherein the one or more depth image sensing devices includes at least one CMOS sensor and wherein the one or more elements are related to one or more people.

4. The electronic gaming system of claim 3 , wherein the one or more depth image sensing devices includes at least one light source and at least one image sensor and wherein the one or more elements are one or more body parts of the one or more people.

5. The electronic gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the determined outcome is not based at least in part on the determined player input and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to generate one or more composite scene images based on the one or more scene data and the one or more additional scene data.

6. The electronic gaming system of claim 5 , wherein the detected body part is a hand and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to detect one or more elements within the one or more composite scene images.

7. The electronic gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the displayed second screen displays a menu of options to the player and wherein the one or more depth image sensing devices are one or more 3D devices.

8. A method of determining a player input via an electronic gaming system comprising:

(a) determining a wager placed by a player of the electronic gaming system;

(b) obtaining one or more scene data;

(c) generating one or more scene images based on the one or more scene data;

(d) causing at least one display device to display a first screen;

(e) detecting a body part of the player;

(f) identifying the detected body part;

(g) detecting a 3D movement of the detected body part;

(h) correlating the detected 3D movement and the identified body part to one of a plurality of reference models;

(i) determining a player input based on the correlated reference model;

(j) determining a second screen to display based at least in part on the determined player input;

(k) causing the at least one display device to display the second screen;

(l) determining an outcome for the play of the game;

(m) causing the electronic gaming system to provide any awards based at least in part on the determined outcome in the play of the game; and

(n) obtaining one or more additional scene data from one or more external electronic gaming devices and wherein the displayed first screen comprises a plurality of video reels.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising detecting one or more elements within the one or more scene images and wherein the determined second screen comprises a bonus game.

10. The method of claim 8 , wherein the displayed first screen comprises a plurality of selections which are selectable by the player and wherein the one or more elements are one or more body parts of the one or more people.

11. The method of claim 8 , further comprising generating one or more composite scene images based on the one or more scene data and the one or more additional scene data and wherein the determined outcome is based at least in part on the determined player input.

12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising detecting one or more elements within the one or more composite scene images and wherein the detected body part is a hand.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the one or more elements are related to one or more people and wherein the displayed second screen comprises at least one characteristic of the detected body part.
