Abstract

Systems and methods enable one or more players to play a game of chance with selectable matrices. A system includes a memory device for storing processor executable instructions that provide a game of chance in which a plurality of house indicia is selected from a pool of house indicia, wherein a size of the pool of house indicia utilized in the game is not finalized before a player selects a player card matrix. The system also includes a processor coupled to the memory device for executing the instructions. When the processor executes the instructions, the processor is programmed to present to the player a plurality of selectable player card matrices, enable the player to select a player card matrix from the plurality of selectable player card matrices, and automatically determine the size of the pool of house indicia based on the player card matrix selected by the player.

Claims (42)

1 . A system comprising:

a memory device configured to store instructions that are executable by a processor to provide a game of chance in which a plurality of house indicia is selected from a pool of house indicia, wherein a size of the pool of house indicia utilized in the game is not finalized before a player selects a player card matrix; and

a processor coupled to said memory device for executing the instructions, wherein, when said processor executes the instructions, said processor is programmed to:

present to the player a plurality of selectable player card matrices;

enable the player to select a player card matrix from the plurality of selectable player card matrices; and

automatically determine the size of the pool of house indicia based on the player card matrix selected by the player.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein said processor is further programmed to:

present the game to the player; and

determine whether the player wins a prize based on a comparison of a plurality of player indicia to the plurality of house indicia selected during the game.

3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein said processor is further programmed to continue the game after said processor determines that the player won the prize.

The system of claim 2 , wherein a total number of the plurality of house indicia that are to be selected during the game is not finalized before the player selects a player matrix, said processor is further programmed to automatically determine the total number of house indicia to be selected during the game based on the player card matrix selected by the player.

5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein said processor is further programmed to end the game after the total number of the house indicia have been selected.

6 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the game is a first game of a plurality of games, said processor is further programmed to enable the player to switch from the first game to a second game of the plurality of games.

7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein said processor is further programmed to enable the player to select a player card matrix in the second game, wherein a size of the player card matrix selected in the second game is different than a size of the player card matrix selected in the first game.

8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein said processor is further programmed to automatically select the size of the pool of house indicia in the second game based on the size of the player card matrix selected in the second game.

9 . The system of claim 6 , wherein said memory device comprises a wrapper program module comprising instructions that, when executed by said processor, program said processor to transfer gameplay data from the first game to the second game.

10 . The system of claim 2 , wherein said processor is further programmed to enable the player to start the game on a first device and obtain the result of the game on a second device.

11 . The system of claim 2 , wherein said processor is further programmed to enable the player to select at least a portion of the player indicia for the selected player card matrix.

12 . The system of claim 2 , wherein said processor is further programmed to enable the player to select a pattern to be used during the game, wherein the pattern is a grouping of spaces for displaying player indicia within the selected player card matrix.

13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein said processor is further programmed to enable the player to select at least a portion of the player indicia to be displayed within the pattern.

14 . The system of claim 12 , wherein said processor is further programmed to determine that the player wins the prize if only a portion of the player indicia within the pattern are matched by the plurality of house indicia selected during the game.

15 . The system of claim 12 , wherein said processor is further programmed to determine that the player wins the prize even when a pattern has been matched by another player playing the game.

16 . A method of providing a game of chance in which a plurality of house indicia is selected from a pool of house indicia, wherein a size of the pool of house indicia utilized in the game is not finalized before a player selects a player card matrix, said method comprising:

presenting, by a processor, a plurality of selectable player card matrices to a player;

enabling, by the processor, the player to select a player card matrix from the plurality of selectable player card matrices; and

automatically determining, by the processor, the size of the pool of house indicia based on the player card matrix selected by the player.

17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising:

presenting the game to the player; and

determining whether the player wins a prize based on a comparison of a plurality of player indicia to the plurality of house indicia selected during the game.

18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising continuing the game after determining that the player won the prize.

19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein a total number of the plurality of house indicia that are to be selected during the game is not finalized before the player selects a player matrix, said method further comprising automatically determining the total number of house indicia to be selected during the game based on the player card matrix selected by the player.

20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising ending the game after the total number of the house indicia have been selected.

21 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the game is a first game of a plurality of games, said method further comprising enabling the player to switch from the first game to a second game of the plurality of games.

22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising enabling the player to select a player card matrix in the second game, wherein a size of the player card matrix selected in the second game is different than a size of the player card matrix selected in the first game.

23 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising automatically selecting the size of the pool of house indicia in the second game based on the size of the player card matrix selected in the second game.

24 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising transferring gameplay data from the first game to the second game.

25 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising enabling the player to start the game on a first device and obtain the result of the game on a second device.

26 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising enabling the player to select at least a portion of the player indicia for the selected player card matrix.

27 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising enabling the player to select a pattern to be used during the game, wherein the pattern is a grouping of spaces for displaying player indicia within the selected player card matrix.

28 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising enabling the player to select at least a portion of the player indicia to be displayed within the pattern.

29 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising determining that the player wins the prize if only a portion of the player indicia within the pattern are matched by the plurality of house indicia selected during the game.

30 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising determining that the player wins the prize even when a pattern has been matched by another player playing the game.
