Abstract

A system including first and second mobile devices is disclosed. The first mobile device has a first and a supplemental interactive pairing criteria associated therewith, and the second mobile device has a second interactive pairing criterion associated therewith. The first mobile device includes a processor configured to perform and/or initiate the following. Upon the second mobile device being geographically positioned within a predetermined geographic distance from the first mobile device, an automatic query is issued to determine whether the first and second interactive pairing criteria at least partially coincide with one another. Based upon a determination that the first interactive pairing criterion and the second interactive pairing criterion at least partially coincide with one another, the second mobile device is interrogated using the supplemental interactive pairing criterion. The second mobile device includes a processor configured to perform and/or initiate receiving an interrogation using the supplemental interactive pairing criterion.

Claims (82)

1 . A method, executed by a first mobile device having a first interactive pairing criterion associated therewith, comprising:

receiving a supplemental interactive pairing criterion associated with the first mobile device;

issuing, upon a second mobile device having a second interactive pairing criterion being geographically positioned within a predetermined geographic distance from the first mobile device, an automatic query to determine whether the first interactive pairing criterion and the second interactive pairing criterion at least partially coincide with one another; and

interrogating, by the first mobile device and based upon a determination that the first interactive pairing criterion and the second interactive pairing criterion at least partially coincide with one another, the second mobile device using the supplemental interactive pairing criterion.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein

a communication channel is established between the first mobile device and the second mobile device before the interrogating.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein

the communication channel is closed based upon the interrogating being unsuccessful.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein

the second interactive pairing criterion has associated therewith a second user profile, and

a characteristic found in the supplemental interactive pairing criterion is not found within the second user profile.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein

a communication channel is established between the first mobile device and the second mobile device after the interrogating being successful.

6 . A method, executed by a second mobile device having a second interactive pairing criterion associated therewith, comprising:

upon a first mobile device having a first interactive pairing criterion being geographically positioned within a predetermined geographic distance from the second mobile device, receiving an automatic query to determine whether the first interactive pairing criterion and the second interactive pairing criterion at least partially coincide with one another; and

receiving, from the first mobile device and based upon a determination that the first interactive pairing criterion and the second interactive pairing criterion at least partially coincide with one another, an interrogation using a supplemental interactive pairing criterion associated with the first mobile device.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein

a communication channel is established between the first mobile device and the second mobile device before the interrogation is received.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein

the communication channel is closed based upon the interrogation being unsuccessful.

9 . The method of claim 6 , wherein

the second interactive pairing criterion has associated therewith a second user profile, and

a characteristic found in the supplemental interactive pairing criterion is not found within the second user profile.

10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising

automatically searching a different second user profile for the characteristic within the supplemental interactive pairing criterion.

11 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising

displaying, to a second user, a query based upon the characteristic within the supplemental interactive pairing criterion.

12 . The method of claim 6 , wherein

a communication channel is established between the first mobile device and the second mobile device after the interrogating being successful.

13 . A first mobile device having a first interactive pairing criterion associated therewith, comprising:

a display; and

a processor, wherein the processor is configured to perform and/or initiate:

receiving a supplemental interactive pairing criterion associated with the first mobile device;

issuing, upon a second mobile device having a second interactive pairing criterion being geographically positioned within a predetermined geographic distance from the first mobile device, an automatic query to determine whether the first interactive pairing criterion and the second interactive pairing criterion at least partially coincide with one another; and

interrogating, based upon a determination that the first interactive pairing criterion and the second interactive pairing criterion at least partially coincide with one another, the second mobile device using the supplemental interactive pairing criterion.

14 . The first mobile device of claim 13 , wherein

a communication channel is established between the first mobile device and the second mobile device before the interrogating.

15 . The first mobile device of claim 14 , wherein

the communication channel is closed based upon the interrogating being unsuccessful.

16 . The first mobile device of claim 13 , wherein

the second interactive pairing criterion has associated therewith a second user profile, and

a characteristic found in the supplemental interactive pairing criterion is not found within the second user profile.

17 . The first mobile device of claim 13 , wherein

a communication channel is established between the first mobile device and the second mobile device after the interrogating being successful.

18 . A second mobile device having a second interactive pairing criterion associated therewith, comprising:

a display; and

a processor, wherein the processor is configured to perform and/or initiate:

upon a first mobile device having a first interactive pairing criterion being geographically positioned within a predetermined geographic distance from the second mobile device, receiving an automatic query to determine whether the first interactive pairing criterion and the second interactive pairing criterion at least partially coincide with one another; and

receiving, from the first mobile device and based upon a determination that the first interactive pairing criterion and the second interactive pairing criterion at least partially coincide with one another, an interrogation using a supplemental interactive pairing criterion associated with the first mobile device.

19 . The second mobile device of claim 18 , wherein

a communication channel is established between the first mobile device and the second mobile device before the interrogation is received.

20 . The second mobile device of claim 19 , wherein

the communication channel is closed based upon the interrogation being unsuccessful.

21 . The second mobile device of claim 18 , wherein

the second interactive pairing criterion has associated therewith a second user profile, and

a characteristic found in the supplemental interactive pairing criterion is not found within the second user profile.

22 . The second mobile device of claim 21 , wherein the processor is further configured to perform and/or initiate:

automatically searching a different second user profile for the characteristic within the supplemental interactive pairing criterion.

23 . The second mobile device of claim 21 , wherein the processor is further configured to perform and/or initiate:

displaying, to a second user, a query based upon the characteristic within the supplemental interactive pairing criterion.

24 . The second mobile device of claim 18 , wherein

a communication channel is established between the first mobile device and the second mobile device after the interrogating being successful.

25 . A system comprising:

a first mobile device having a first interactive pairing criterion and a supplemental interactive pairing criterion associated therewith; and
