SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING VEHICLE DISPATCH AND FLEET WORKFLOW
A system and method for processing GPS event data and providing an interface for managing fleet and vehicle workflows.
1 . An computer system for dispatching jobs to a vehicle fleet including at least one computer processor and computer readable storage medium or media including computer code and at least one storage device, the system comprising:
a memory including
a database configured to store at least one record of a job associated with a fleet entity;
the one or more processors programmed perform at least one of:
receive GPS event data transmitted from at least one GPS device, each GPS device associated with a vehicle, the event GPS event data including location information for the vehicle;
associate at least one vehicle with the job based on the GPS event data; and
provide, for a graphic user interface, an indication of the at least one vehicle to dispatch the job.
2 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further programmed at least to:
provide, for the graphic user interface, the indication of the at least one vehicle in conjunction with a map showing the position of the vehicle.
3 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further programmed at least to:
provide, for the graphic user interface, at least one input interface for selecting an action for dispatching the job.
4 . The computer system of claim 3 , wherein the action includes at least one of:
assigning the job to a driver or vehicle,
finding a nearest vehicle to a job;
reassigning the job to a driver or vehicle;
recalling the job;
identifying the job as complete;
reopening the job; and
canceling the job.
5 . The computer system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more processors are further programmed at least to:
provide, for the graphic user interface, a display of at least one criterion for finding the nearest vehicle.
6 . The computer system of claim 5 , wherein the at least one criterion for finding the nearest vehicle includes at least one of:
a time criterion and a group criterion.
7 . The computer system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more processors are further programmed to provide, for the graphic user interface, a display at least one of, for at least one nearest vehicle to a job:
a number of the nearest vehicles;
an identification of a driver associated each vehicle;
a distance of the vehicle from the job;
a travel time for the job; and
contact information for the vehicle or driver.
8 . The computer system of claim 7 , wherein the contact information includes at least one of:
an indicator showing the driver has a computer application configured to interface with the graphic user interface.
9 . The computer system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more processors are further programmed at least to:
provide, for the graphic user interface, an assignment action input for assigning the job to the driver via the application.
10 . The computer system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more processors are further programmed at least to:
provide, for the graphic user interface, a pop-up display for selecting the nearest driver.
11 . The computer system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more processors are further programmed to provide, for the graphic user interface, a display at least one of:
a job identification;
an address for the job; and
job a status dropdown.
12 . The computer system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more processors are further programmed at least to:
provide, for the graphic user interface, the indication of at least one nearest vehicle in conjunction with a map showing the position of the at least one nearest vehicle.
13 . The computer system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more processors are further programmed at least to provide, for the graphic user interface a display of a schedule for at least one job and at least one driver.
14 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further programmed at least to provide interface tool for at least one of:
managing a job type;
creating a new job;
managing customers for a job;
uploading a job; and
editing a job.
15 . A method comprising, in at least one computer and a computer readable storage medium or media including computer code:
receiving GPS event data transmitted from a plurality of GPS devices, each GPS device associated with a vehicle;
associating at least one vehicle with the job based on the GPS event data; and
providing, for a graphic user interface, an indication of the at least one vehicle to dispatch the job.
16 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising:
providing, for the graphic user interface, the indication of the at least one vehicle in conjunction with a map showing the position of the vehicle.
17 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising:
providing, for the graphic user interface, at least one input interface for selecting an action for dispatching the job.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the action includes at least one of:
assigning the job to a driver or vehicle,
finding a nearest vehicle to a job;
reassigning the job to a driver or vehicle;
recalling the job;
identifying the job as complete;
reopening the job; and
canceling the job.
19 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising:
providing, for the graphic user interface, a display of at least one criterion for finding the nearest vehicle.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the at least one criterion for finding the nearest vehicle includes at least one of:
a time criterion and a group criterion.
21 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the method further comprises providing, for the graphic user interface, a display of at least one of for at least one nearest vehicle to a job:
a number of the nearest vehicles;
an identification of a driver associated each vehicle;
a distance of the vehicle from the job;
a travel time for the job; and
contact information for the vehicle or driver.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the contact information includes at least one of:
an indicator showing the driver has a computer application configured to interface with the graphic user interface.
23 . The method of claim 22 wherein the method further comprises:
providing for the graphic user interface, an assignment action input for assigning the job to the driver via the application.
24 . The method of claim 18 wherein the method further comprises:
providing, for the graphic user interface, a pop-up display for selecting the nearest driver.
25 . The method of claim 18 wherein the method further comprises providing, for the graphic user interface, a display of at least one of:
a job identification;
an address for the job; and
a job status dropdown.
26 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the method further comprises:
providing, for the graphic user interface, the indication of at least one nearest vehicle in conjunction with a map showing the position of the at least on nearest vehicle.
27 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the further comprises providing, for the graphic user interface, a display of a schedule for at least one job and at least one driver.
28 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the method further comprises providing an interface tool for at least one of:
managing a job type;
creating a new job;
managing customers for a job;
uploading a job; and
editing a job.
