Abstract

Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure includes a system to recognize the drivers and/or passengers within the automobile. Based on the recognition, the vehicle may change a configuration of the automobile to match predetermined preferences for the driver and/or passenger. The configurations may also include the recognition of a unique set of gestures for the person. Further, the configuration can also include the tracking of health data related to the person.

Claims (50)

1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A method for identifying an occupant within a vehicle, comprising:

receiving biometric data from one or more vehicle sensors;

determining, using the biometric data, one or more characteristics of the occupant; and

identifying the occupant based on the one or more characteristics of the occupant.

22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the occupant is identified if the one or more characteristics match characteristics in one or more records.

23 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising:

creating a new record for the occupant if the one or more characteristics do not match characteristics in the one or more records.

24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein biometric data comprises one or more health data and safety data.

25 . The method of claim 24 , further comprising:

receiving one or more additional health data and safety data from the one or more vehicle sensors;

based on the received one or more additional health data and safety data, modifying at least one of a function and operation of the vehicle.

26 . The method of claim 24 , further comprising:

determining if the one or more health data and safety data is to be stored for the occupant; and

storing the one or more health data and safety data.

27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein determining if the one or more health data and safety data can be stored for a person comprises determining if a baseline data pattern for the person can be provided based on an amount of one or more health data and safety parameters.

28 . The method of claim 24 , further comprising:

receiving one or more additional health and safety data from the one or more vehicle sensors; and

storing the one or more health and safety data.

29 . The method of claim 24 , wherein the received one or more additional health data and safety data is additional health data, the method further comprising:

determining if the additional health data is within acceptable limits; and

modifying at least one of a function and operation of the vehicle if the additional health data is not within acceptable limits.

30 . The method of claim 24 , wherein the received one or more additional health data and safety data is additional safety data, and safety parameters comprise one or more common operating characteristics for the person, the method further comprising:

determining if the additional safety data deviates from the one or more safety parameters; and

modifying the at least one of a function and operation of the vehicle when the additional safety data deviates from the one or more safety parameters.

31 . The method of claim 24 , wherein health data comprises at least one of: heart rate, blood pressure, blood presence, blood composition, temperature, a presence of liquid, weight, weight shift, position, breathing rate, anxiety level, state of awareness, consciousness, and reaction from the driver.

32 . The method of claim 24 , wherein safety data comprises at least one of: head position, hand position, focus, position of the person, and reaction time of the person.

33 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:

receiving sensor data from at least one sensor that indicates the person is within the vehicle.

34 . A computer readable storage medium comprising processor executable instruction operable to perform the method of claim 21 .

35 . A vehicle system, comprising:

one or more sensors;

a vehicle control system comprising:

a processor;

a memory;

wherein the processor is operable to:

receive biometric data from the one or more sensors;

determine, using the biometric data, one or more characteristics of an occupant; and

identify the occupant based on the one or more characteristics of the occupant.

36 . The device of claim 35 , wherein the occupant is identified if the one or more characteristics match characteristics in one or more records.

37 . The device of claim 35 , wherein biometric data comprises one or more health data and safety data and the processor is further operable to:

receive one or more additional health data and safety data from the one or more vehicle sensors, and based on the received one or more additional health data and safety data, modify at least one of a function and operation of the vehicle.

38 . The device of claim 35 , wherein the one or more sensors comprise at least one of: a pulse measuring device; a temperature measuring device; an infrared camera; a vehicle seat sensor; a viscosity sensor; and a fluid sensor.

40 . A method comprising:

receiving biometric data from one or more vehicle sensors;

determining, using the biometric data, one or more characteristics representative of a health associated with an occupant;

determining if the one or more characteristics of the occupant is within acceptable limits; and

modifying at least one of a function and operation of a vehicle if the one or more characteristics is outside the acceptable limits.
