Navigable Website Analysis Engine
An optimization engine allows website publishers and other network document publishers to view and navigate statistics and scoring methodologies of a search engine. Publishers may thus gain a better understanding of how their website or network document is scored and how to optimize those documents to increase a search engine score. The user is thus able to navigate the network from the perspective of a search engine, viewing webpages, websites, and links in the same way a search engine would analyze them. Upon making changes to a website or network document, publishers may further request on-demand re-crawling of their website or network document to view changes in the score. Alerts may also be activated by a user to notify the user when certain conditions are met.
1 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a computing system having at least one processor, a user-defined network document condition, wherein the user-defined document condition is traffic independent;
monitoring, by the computing system, a search engine analysis of a network document;
determining, by the computing system during performance of the search engine analysis of the network document, whether the user-defined condition has occurred based on the search engine analysis, wherein the user-defined condition adversely or positively affects a ranking of the network document by a search engine; and
upon determining that the user-defined condition has occurred, providing an option to generate a display of the network document, wherein the display includes an indicator of a location on the network document where the user-defined condition occurs.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
in response to determining that the user-defined condition has been met, transmitting at least one of: an alert and a suggestion for fixing the condition.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
in response to determining that the user-defined condition has been met, re-crawling a network in which the network document is published.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the condition includes a number of broken links in the network document.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the search engine analysis is conducted based on a schedule.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the search engine analysis is conducted on-demand in real-time.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the location on the network document where the user-defined condition occurs comprises the location of a link having the user-defined condition, the method further comprising:
generating a list of links included on the network document, the list of links including the link having the user-defined condition;
receiving a selection of the option to generate the display of the network document; and
in response to receiving the selection of the option, generating a snapshot of the network document, wherein the snapshot highlights the location of the link having the user-defined condition.
8 . A non-transitory machine readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause an apparatus to:
receive a user-defined network document condition, wherein the user-defined document condition is traffic independent;
monitor a search engine analysis of a network document;
determine, during performance of the search engine analysis of the network document, whether the user-defined condition has occurred based on the search engine analysis, wherein the user-defined condition adversely or positively affects a ranking of the network document by a search engine; and
upon determining that the user-defined condition has occurred, provide an option to generate a display of the network document, wherein the display includes an indicator of a location on the network document where the user-defined condition occurs.
9 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:
in response to determining that the user-defined condition has been met, transmit at least one of: an alert and a suggestion for fixing the condition.
10 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:
in response to determining that the user-defined condition has been met, re-crawl a network in which the network document is published.
11 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the condition includes a number of broken links in the network document.
12 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the search engine analysis is conducted based on a schedule.
13 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the search engine analysis is conducted on-demand in real-time.
14 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the location on the network document where the user-defined condition occurs comprises the location of a link having the user-defined condition, and
wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:
generate a list of links included on the network document, the list of links including the link having the user-defined condition;
receive a selection of the option to generate the display of the network document; and
in response to receiving the selection of the option, generate a snapshot of the network document, wherein the snapshot highlights the location of the link having the user-defined condition.
15 . An apparatus comprising:
a processor; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to:
receive a user-defined network document condition, wherein the user-defined document condition is traffic independent;
monitor a search engine analysis of a network document;
determine, during performance of the search engine analysis of the network document, whether the user-defined condition has occurred based on the search engine analysis, wherein the user-defined condition adversely or positively affects a ranking of the network document by a search engine; and
upon determining that the user-defined condition has occurred, provide an option to generate a display of the network document, wherein the display includes an indicator of a location on the network document where the user-defined condition occurs.
16 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:
in response to determining that the user-defined condition has been met, transmit at least one of: an alert and a suggestion for fixing the condition.
17 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:
in response to determining that the user-defined condition has been met, re-crawl a network in which the network document is published.
18 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the condition includes a number of broken links in the network document.
19 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the search engine analysis is conducted based on a schedule.
20 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the search engine analysis is conducted on-demand in real-time.
21 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the location on the network document where the user-defined condition occurs comprises the location of a link having the user-defined condition, and
wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:
generate a list of links included on the network document, the list of links including the link having the user-defined condition;
receive a selection of the option to generate the display of the network document; and
in response to receiving the selection of the option, generate a snapshot of the network document, wherein the snapshot highlights the location of the link having the user-defined condition.
