INTELLIGENT CUSTOMER SERVICE/CALL CENTER SERVICES ENHANCED USING REAL-TIME AND HISTORICAL MOBILE APPLICATION AND TRAFFIC-RELATED STATISTICS COLLECTED BY A DISTRIBUTED CACHING SYSTEM IN A MOBILE NETWORK
Systems and methods of intelligent customer service/call center services enhanced using real-time and historical mobile application and traffic-related statistics collected by a distributed caching system in a mobile network are disclosed. The data can be tracked by a client-side and/or a server-side reporting engine and usage analytics engine. Reports can also be generated by the system from the data and provided to the customer service/call center, such as trend charts showing optimization efficiency of traffic over a network and battery consumption vs. application load for a mobile device as a function of time.
1 . A method of providing information from a mobile device to a service provider of a mobile network, the method comprising:
collecting data in conjunction with management and optimization of traffic to or from the mobile device;
transmitting at least some of the data pertaining to use of the mobile device to the service provider.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the management and optimization of traffic is based upon analysis of at least one of: mobile device application behavior, mobile device user behavior, and mobile network conditions.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the data includes a first amount of traffic data sent to or from the mobile device.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the data includes optimization efficiency data of the mobile device based upon the management and optimization of traffic to or from the mobile device.
5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the data includes signaling connections made by the mobile device and a second amount of time the mobile device is connected to the mobile network.
6 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the data includes an amount of battery consumption data for the mobile device.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the data is stored at a server, wherein the management and optimization of traffic is performed by the server and a client-side proxy on the mobile device.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the data is stored at a local proxy on the mobile device.
9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising detecting by the mobile device a customer service request sent to the service provider from the mobile device; and identifying a nature of the customer service request, wherein the data is relevant to the identified nature.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein, the mobile device receives a request for specific types of information from a user for the customer service provider, wherein the data sent from the mobile device is responsive to the request.
11 . A method of providing information from a server to a mobile device service provider, the method comprising:
collecting at the server data in conjunction with management and optimization of traffic over one or more mobile networks to or from a plurality of mobile devices;
transmitting at least some of the data pertaining to use of the plurality of mobile devices to the service provider.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the management and optimization of traffic is based upon analysis of at least one of: mobile device application behavior, mobile device user behavior, and mobile network behavior conditions.
13 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising receiving a first request for information from the service provider for monitoring a given mobile network, wherein the at least some of the data is responsive to the first request.
14 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising receiving a second request for information from the service provider for servicing a customer service request, wherein the at least some of the data is responsive to the second request.
15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the transmission of the at least some of the data to the service provider is initiated by the server periodically.
16 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising aggregating from the plurality of mobile devices further data pertaining to use of the plurality of mobile devices.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the aggregated data comprises battery consumption data for the plurality of mobile devices.
18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the data includes data from a period of at least a year.
19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the data comprises a number of users of the plurality of mobile devices.
20 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the data comprises optimization efficiency data of the multiple mobile devices based upon the management optimization of traffic to or from the plurality of mobile devices.
21 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the data comprises an amount of data traffic sent to or from the plurality of mobile devices.
22 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the data comprises applications accessed or used on the plurality of mobile devices.
23 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the data comprises types of the plurality of mobile devices accessing the one or more mobile networks.
24 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising generating by the server one or more charts including trend charts or cumulative area charts of at least a subset of the data; and providing the one or more charts to the service provider.
25 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising generating one or more ranking reports of top ranked mobile devices based on at least a subset of the data; and providing the one or more ranking reports to the service provider.
26 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising advanced rankings reports from the data, wherein the advanced rankings reports include at least one of: top bearers reports, top hosts reports, and top protocol reports; and transmitting at least a subset of the advanced rankings reports to the service provider.
27 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising using big data technologies for extracting useful information from the data and performing trending of historical records.
28 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising performing a custom analysis of the data, wherein the custom analysis can include at least one of: trending across single or multiple dimensions simultaneously; time-of-day, day-of-the-week analysis with trending over time; time-series analysis; predictive analysis; alerts for crossing trend lines and changing trends; and data feed customer relationship management, network operations, or policy management in real-time, on an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly basis; and transmitting results of the custom analysis to the service provider.
29 . A machine readable medium storing instructions which when executed by a machine, cause the machine to:
collect mobile device application data and mobile device type data in conjunction with management and optimization of traffic to or from the plurality of mobile devices over a given mobile network over a period of time;
transmit at least some of the data to a service provider of one of a plurality of mobile networks accessed by the plurality of mobile devices.
30 . A system for providing information from a server to a mobile device customer service provider, the system comprising:
means for aggregating at the server data from multiple mobile devices operating across multiple mobile networks, wherein the data is collected in conjunction with management and optimization of traffic to or from the multiple mobile devices over a given mobile network over a period of time;
means for providing by the server at least some of the data to the customer service provider;
means for generating one or more reports from the data for transmission to the customer service provider.
