Abstract

An apparatus including an input configured to receive at least one first audio signal from a first apparatus; an input configured to receive at least one second audio signal from a second apparatus; a distance detector configured to determine a distance between the first and the second apparatus; and a level control generator configured to generate a level control for mixing the at least one first audio signal and the at least one second audio signal based on the distance between the first and the second apparatus.

determining a correlation between the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal;

generating, by the mobile device, a level control and adjusting, based on the level control, a signal level of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal;

mixing the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal after the adjustment, wherein generating the level control is based on the correlation between the first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal, and wherein adjusting the signal level is adjusting at least a gain level of the at least one first microphone audio signal based on at least the determined distance between the first remote apparatus and the mobile device; and

outputting the mixed signals based on the determined distance.

2. The method as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising synchronising one of the at least one first and the at least one second microphone audio signal to another of the at least one second and the at least one first microphone audio signal respectively based on the correlation between the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal.

3. The method as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising determining a signal to noise ratio of the at least one first microphone audio signal, wherein generating the level control used in the mixing of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal is further based on the signal to noise ratio of the at least one first microphone audio signal.

4. The method as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising determining a signal to noise ratio of the at least one second microphone audio signal, wherein generating the level control used in the mixing of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal is further based on the signal to noise ratio of the at least one second microphone audio signal.

5. The method as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising determining at least one user input, wherein generating the level control used in the mixing of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal is further based on the at least one user input.

6. The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein determining the distance between the first remote apparatus and the mobile device comprises:

determining a location estimation of the first remote apparatus;

determining a location estimation of the mobile device;

determining the distance and adjusting the at least one first microphone audio signal from the first remote apparatus in the mixing based on a location difference between the location estimation of the first remote apparatus and the location estimation of the mobile device.

7. The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the correlation comprises a time shift correlation between the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal.

8. The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein generating the level control used in the mixing of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal comprises generating a level control such that a combined volume of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal is substantially constant from a first distance between the first remote apparatus and the mobile device and a second distance between the first remote apparatus and the mobile device, wherein the first distance is smaller than the second distance.

9. The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein generating a level control used in the mixing of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal comprises generating a level control such that one of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal is muted when the distance between the first remote apparatus and the mobile device is less than a determined threshold distance.

10. The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein generating a level control used in the mixing of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal based on the distance between the first remote apparatus and the mobile device comprises generating a level control such that one of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal is a most significant component, where the distance between the first remote apparatus and the mobile device is greater than a determined threshold distance.

11. An apparatus comprising

at least one processor and

at least one memory including computer code for one or more programs, the at least one memory and the computer code configured to with the at least one processor cause the apparatus to at least:

receive at least one first microphone audio signal from a first remote apparatus remote to the a host apparatus;

receive at least one second microphone audio signal from the host apparatus;

determine a distance between the first remote apparatus and the host apparatus;

determine a correlation between the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal,

generate a level control and adjust, based on the level control, a signal level of the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal;

mix the at least one first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal after the adjustment, wherein generating the level control is based on the correlation between the first microphone audio signal and the at least one second microphone audio signal, and wherein adjusting the signal level is adjusting at least a gain of the at least one first microphone audio signal based on at least the determined distance between the first remote apparatus and the host apparatus; and
